I noticed that one of my images made the JPG magazine "Hot" list.
Any of you JPG users know what the qualifications are for that august designation?.......8>)
What does it mean if a photo is "hot"?
When a photo is submitted to a photo challenge or open theme, the photos that the community likes best become "hot." Hotness is determined automatically by factors including number of votes, comments, views, and favorites. Hot photos have a banner to the right of the photo that links to more hot photos within the theme. A photo's hotness is not permanent, but can change based on how the community is responding to other photos in the theme.
The epic Dappled trilogy is up in our results thread. Congrats to xianart and figaro for their personal top 5s, to figaro and Wildcard for leading their challenges, and once more to figaro for the top score this week!
And to BrianR for a Top Ten placement in Dappled Light!!

I guess I'd better take a new self-portrait soon. This old chick is down 32.8 lbs. since mid-January. As of last night I have a new hair-do and it's got some new shades of color in it too.
I told my husband that he's got a new woman to hassle him. He came home and walked around me about three times and then stared at the TV set for about 5 hours. I guess even with those changes it just isn't that exciting.
And then we got a call from our eldest son, he was not having a good day. For the second time since moving to the DC-area his car has been stolen. Last time it was actually found and repaired (lots of repair). This time I don't think he'll be that lucky this time. Gut tells me it is gone for good this time!
BTW, I got a much better reaction to the new style at work.

Congrats! You should be very proud of yourself, and you deserve to indulge in a new hairstyle after all that work taking off the pounds. :)

My Boats entry is getting wonderful comments but sucking along at 4.5 cause, as usual, I had too much fun getting the shot to care...but hey, there IS a boat in it...

He does! On my portfolio page now...everyone, meet Lily, a very recently retired breeding female who badly needs to be vaccinated and spayed, ASAP...she is howling her cute little head off and Druli hasn't the faintest idea why, or what he's supposed to do about it, lol! She had 3 litters for the breeder she was with, and the asshat (what a great word eh?) who bred her had the poor little girl declawed, all around, so she had great big mats in her neck fur cause she can't scratch them out herself.
She is even smaller than the calico, at a wispy 5lbs....Druli is 12lbs or maybe a leetle more...but her personality is much more like his, she's very sensible and laid-back and sweet-natured. But she didn't catch last year or this year, so the owners decided that it's time for her to go to a pet home...and they can't take her back in case she gets something and infects the breeding stock.
So, she's here for good, and Druli is starting to come around (she came home this past Tuesday the 27th).
And for those wondering what became of that crazy little calico, whom I named Luna, aka Bessie...she is the only pet in a household of 5 or 7 people, so she is in heaven bossing them around with her insane levels of energy.
And we are all living happily ever after, at least once the vet bills are paid lol!
Oh, man, I love XKCD (the cartoon that inspired the photos). Very dry humor. If you read it, make sure you mouse over the cartoon. He puts a final touch into a text bit that pops up.
