Anybody have good suggestions for movies where a main part of the theme includes photography or a photographer? I'm looking for fiction movies, but if you know of a documentary that is really good throw it in here. Has to be appropriate to show high school students in school.
Blow-Up comes to mind immediately. If you do some searching, I am pretty sure this topic has come up before; also songs with a photo theme ...
I remember a thread about this before so I just searched for it.....I know this has been brought up before but man does the search feature on this site suck!!! Hundreds or results and none of them to do with movies about photography.

I did that too. Didn't find what I was looking for in the first 12 pages, then Google gave me a message saying my query was too much like a spybot or virus and they would not let me look at any more results!!
Hahahaha, omg. I completely missed the part about it being for students. I was going to suggest One Hour Photo with a warning it wasn't for kids, then decided to make sure you weren't a kid and reread your question, lol. Yeah, One Hour Photo no good for high-school.
"Blow Up" is probably not appropriate for kids. Well, it was considered "adult" when it was made -- I suppose it's tame by comparison to what kids see today on tv, film and video games. There is brief nudity and sex, however.
There have been a couple of movies about war photographers. One had Nick Nolte. I can't remember the name. You can look it up on imdb.com.
Edit: There is a documentary from 2001 called "War Photographer." And then there's always Spiderman. ;-)
Not sure what are you looking for but "Blood Diamond" shows Jennifer Connelly acting as a photo journalist. Some violence and strong language. But if you only want to show a photographer in action and show only that part then it might be ok.
Isn't there relatively new "thriller" out called "Shutter" or something like that. It is about a man killing his wife and she shows up in all the pictures his new wife takes, or something like that.

few years ago i saw a japanease movie about one girl getting fanatic about taking pictures of dead animals and people, but i don't remember the name...
probably not appropriate for high school kids, but some interesting aspects to think about.

Hard Candy is pretty amazing, but definitely not for the squeamish or kids. Amelie has a sooooort of photo theme throughout (but it's pushing it), and is possibly my favourite film ever, safe for kids!
