I am impressed from many photos I saw. I gave them lots of tens!!

I am brand new here so I don't really know what to make of this challenge.
I am thinking that the Paranormal is something that is not really photographed for pleasure the way, say a landscape is. Judging might be difficult.
I really don't know... I did enjoy a lot of the entries myself.
I was really disappointed initially with my scores (5.1) so far but now I am just resolved to this being a chance for me to really learn what a good photograph is.
I really mean that even though it sounds a little weird to me.

You will regularly find good images getting low scores. Sometimes it is a matter of voters feeling it does not meet their definition of the theme, Other times it may be a great image, but without the broad appeal needed to hit the high averages. Everybody voting has different criteria and it's hard to tell why if they do not leave comments. After the challenge, take a look at the voting breakdown and you can see how many people really did give your entry a high mark. You can also use one of these spreadsheets to keep track of your scores during voting.
After a while you learn to judge things by the comments as well as the score. Keep in mind that standards are very high here, and your score is an average of what everybody thought of it. Something which rates a 5 on this site will have your friends and relatives telling you how good a photographer you are. (My wife thinks I should sell on the stock sites and my mother thinks my stuff should be in a gallery. I'm not that good yet.)
The "angry" voters are out today/tonight...I've dropped .12 since lunchtime. I think I'll go back and revisit my votes and see if any can be adjusted up. Maybe it will help the voting mood! ;)

Have you noticed that for every good vote you get you almost always gt a bad one straight after so your score seems to drop or stay the same.
I noticed this in the centered challenge where I got 11 3's and 11 8's.
the same thing appears to be happening here.
No favs and only 12 comments- but at 6.13 I'm not complaining. Even though I think i might finish top ten, i'll probably sink down to ...umm...i dunno, 50th?!
For some reason the scoring on this challenge seems to me somehow - "not right". Yesterday evening and late night I decided to keep track of my scores because it has been so weird - up and then down all of a sudden in a few votes.
These are the votes I received last night starting around 6pm and ending around 2am (Mountain Daylight Time in Colorado):
6. 10, 8, 10, 3, 3
The two 3's came within 15 minutes of each other very late at night my time - like between 1:30 and 1:45am. It seems very odd that two 3's would come that close to each other when the scoring had been slow all day and on a picture that had been scoring well troughout the evening. It's almost like someone had been logging into multiple accounts and voting a lot of pictures down.
That sounds weird and suspicious and I'm not a suspsicious person at all and usually NEVER think these kind of things but with those two 3's so close together late last night I began to wonder a bit.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?
yes! and it normaly seems that the low votes come around that time!
