People need to understand that many colors can be warm in some hues and cool in others. Just looking at a color and saying something like "red is a warm color - 3" is just untrue (just an example, not a comment received). Red can be cool if it is a blue-red, and warm if it is an orange-red, and the same is true for a lot of colors, like pinks, oranges, etc.
Proper monitor calibration is going to be a big factor in this challenge.
I am now reminded why I stopped entering challenges.
I have three entries in at the moment. I forced myself to enter the free study with a shot I wasn't 100% happy with. It is justifiably getting slaughtered. My DNMC is a piss-take and is therefore scoring atrociously as I hoped it would (though I have a 10 from someone who got the joke!). This one however is actually one of my favourite recent shots, and on this occasion the voters are frankly wrong!
I honestly cannot believe this is tanking so incredibly hard. I really liked it even if it wasn't perfect. It wasn't a set up shot with perfect lighting like most of the others. I think that might be why but my pattern photo sucks in comparison imo and it scored way way higher than this even has a chance to from the looks of it. One claims they don't see how this fits the subject. Doesn't anyone know what a cool color looks like. I wasn't completely for sure what would be considered cool so I googled it before I went out picture hunting. Perhaps all of the voters would be wise to do the same before voting.
Why they request the original for review? This happens only when some member send a request to the council? Or the council randomly checks some photos?
I'm wondering what my entry has on it to be considered illegal...

I've got an entry in the warm colors challenge and I think both of these challenges are being hit by the same issue. Defining a warm or cool color according to the physics of the color spectrum, or defining it according to perception.

Could be either of the reasons you mentioned above. Most likely someone voting/viewing it thought some aspect of it may have violated the basic ruleset and requested validation.
Not a super big deal...(as long as you followed the rules), validation requests are fairly common.
