Louis...the story goes like this. Last time I did a "SP-a-day Challenge"....
Yeah, I remember that... I was doing that SP too. I know this isn't the place for such discussions, but for the life of me I don't know why we need to triple-warn people about stuff that would pass on magazine covers in grocery stores... seems quite ridiculous.
After 4 days of shooting myself for this I realized why I was on the backside of the camera. I really hate looking atr myself. I will try and catch up today but if not please no one shoot me.(no pun intended)
Also my membership expires in 17 days so I mayu have to move my self portraits elsewhere becasue I am not sure renewing is worth it.
Day 5
I really hope I can get caught up, this is horrible only 7 days in & I'm behind!! We'll be going to FL for a few days, hopefully the warm weather will motivate me to take some shots! :)
I decided to take a different approach to this today. Since I can't edit photos very well, I decided to just take a picture and post it. I did nothing to this except crop out some of the background on the right. If you want to give me some advice as to what I can do to it, I'll gladly take some.

Great advice so far, but I wanted to add that in the winter I do turn this freaky Simpson's like colour. My brother has always made fun of me because of it, so it's nothing new to me. My brother was also the one that burnt me from the neck up with fireworks when we were kids. I still believe that has something to do with my weird pigmentation.
[thumb]643768[/thumb] I tried to get the focus better and worked on toning down the yellow. That is my half assed smile, because when I do smile I get that funny Elvis/Billy Idol snarl. I can shoot in manual mode, but I totally don't understand the manual focus on it. That's the one thing I really miss about my old 35mm slr, it was so easy!!

You do not "SUCK"! :-) SP's can be hard so don't get down on yourself.
Will your camera let you shoot in manual mode and can you manually focus?
I have been sick for the last 2 days, but here is my attempt at using lights. Umbrella and strobe 4 feet off camera right with a 420EX using a diffuser bouncing off the wall in front of me. Cindi said I should try this so here it is.

I agree. i for one find it very hard and still take tons and tons of bad photos. I can cover some of them with crazy post processing but they are still bad photos at the base. They first time I did this my photos were very bad but i learned allot so keep your chin up.
