I just want to stop for a second to tell you guys that my subject is starting Chemo again next week. As some of you know, her cancer is not in remission and they are still actively treating it. She's a fighter, but please do send your thoughts and prayers out to Karla and her family.
Leroy: Our hearts go out to Karla and her family and to you we will keep her in our thoughts and prayers again and pass along hope for remission soon.
Please tell her if you get the chance that even though we don't know her personally seeing her and her daughter through your photos brings us together as a community and she has our support.
Hi everyone. I just recieved an email from SGK foundation asking if we have a contract with SGK to use their name..etc...
I need to formulate a reply to them. Anyone want to help me out. I assume they saw a press release somewhere and sent me an email.
I am not sure what exactly they want or are getting at, but I suppose I will call the local SGK office in the morning and talk to someone about this project to make sure we arent crossing any legal lines with using their name in our press releases...etc....

Yeah, well, if they demand their money, we can go ahead and give to them what we have so far. I am thinking they are just nervous about the money not getting donated like it should/their name being used and no donations being made/fraud.
I would say that we were looking to do something nice for our survivors and were planning to donate the money in their names in secret to SGK so we didn't think they would mind if we TOLD people where the money was going.
If they raise too much of a stink, it's ok, we can remove it from the blog... it's not on any of the calendars... we can just give it to another breast cancer foundation... :) I am sure they don't want to shoot themselves in the foot here...
ETA: Yet another reason I said we should keep very good records... :)
Well I will make the phone call tomorrow. I am sure its not a big deal. Maybe they are just protecting their name. I wonder how many people will say they are raising money for a cause, and not really be? I am sure that is all it is!
To be honest, I would ask why on EARTH they think we need a contract. While I understand that we MENTIONED their name, and that we would be donating all proceeds, I don't think there will be any issues once they get the check(s).
I agree that it isn't a bad idea to have a list of customers / receipts... but also think there is not much to be concerned about. karma being what it is, SURELY everything will be just fine... but, Karma being who SHE is, we could always have her do the talking! LOL

She definitely has my prayers. I just loved that photo that you took and there is so much mother-daughter joy radiating in that picture. Crossing my fingers for her too.
