Dax- One of the most under-appreciated DPChallenge artists in my opinion, that dropped off the face of the planet after her disqualification in the Perspective IV challenge. I never got any replies to any of the PMs I sent her either.
Does anybody know her personally? Just wondering if maybe something happened. She was one of the first people I faved and was the reason I even started shooting those silly bubbles shots of mine.

I love photography ,but my eyes are going bad ( +4 ),so I took little break from the PC monitors :-)
But as soon my depression gets better I will be back in the game!

We exchanged a couple PMs and she said she had all sorts of issues with PC's there and finally got the PC and some other things sorted out.

I was not familiar with Dax before this thread, but now that I've seen her profile, I sure hope she comes back! I can't believe she hasn't ribboned with one of those beautiful shots. She's so talented, I love her style.

Graphicfunk extends warm wishes to one and all. A short explanation on my current delinquency.
First and foremost I love DPC but most I love the wonderful members that give life, hope, energy and yes, the wide breath of amazing creativity. I am a member and will continue to be.
Yes, I have been absent and before me lies a giant challenge which I must overcome. One of my Sailing buddies was a Clarinet virtuoso and stopped playing some twenty years ago. We have all tried to get him to pick up the instrument again to no avail. His major excuse is that it would take him years to get back his chops. Well, I persisted. Believe me, you do not want graphicfunk petitioning you to reawaken something that will benefit you. I cycle through several instruments namely piano, guitar, flute and sax. Played the clarinet the least. I proposed to Eddy that if he picks up his clarinet that I would study mine in earnest. Finally he takes me up on it. This is June of 2007. I ran to the store and bought a professional clarinet. Not a new one. A series nine Selmer. Of course, Eddy plays the R-13 Buffet.
I figured If I practice long hours I would be set to play with him in six months. Besides, I figured 20 years since he played would make it a fair exchange. Can you believe that Eddy is rushing back so rapidly that in three months, count them 3 months, he has held me spellbound as he rips through the Mozart 622 clarinet concerto. But wait, while classically trained, he plays some mean jazz. Well, here it is Jan 2008 and while my studies have paid off I am no where near Eddy's and may need about three more months of wood shedding to stand next to him playing. He says that my improvement is simply alarming but flattery does me no good. I know all of my weaknesses and I am still shaping the sound I want.
Once I bring up my chops I can cut back on my practice to 3 hours. Currently I do well over eight with good breaks in between. But these next three months are crucial. I figure about April I should be bringing back my life to a more normal state. At that point I will return to DPC. Yes, I know, a little break is nice, too long a break has the danger of making a return harder. But it is okay, I love challenges.
Therefore, talk amongst yourselves, and I will return with my usual desire to enjoy myself at DPC. I do miss all of you and the wonderful chemistry of this lovely place. Best regards, dan

What a great project....I still play my Bundy Selmer that I started playing in 1974 in the 5th grade! Now at 43 I still play in the local community band (far from ever being a virtuoso) I thought about buying myself a new clarinet this year and then decided 'why'?? my Clarinet is like an appendage of me...

Wow, I pop in for a moment to look at a profile another DPC'er mentioned and look what I find. I miss all of you!! This place has really evolved since my days here. I have been somewhat overwhlemed by life the last year or two, you could say, so haven't been as good of friends with my camera as I used to be. I'll have to get reacquainted soon!
