but then again... I was one of the ones who complained a lot about the votes in DPC. I just got used to too much in short time... my two ribbons also helped me to get over it I think ;)

We (I) also suggested "Selected Judge" voting at least 4 times a year in DPC, but the nature of DPC is much different than other sites it appears. It does drive me crazy most of the time, you just don't know when and what you are going to get. I just don't know yet if it's good thing or bad thing for us, members and hardworking photographers. Most of us having fun more than having contest here, I think that makes it unique. It is very difficult site. I also would like to think DPC is top of the line free(almost) "quality" check for my photos.
...or maybe I am just dreaming and this place really sucks, and we all should just go to the other sites...

It has been brought up before but I'd like to say once again that we should have a juried challenge at DPC. Run them like we do with the speed challenges (i.e. once in a while). This would spice things up especially for old members, which should be a good thing if the goal is to keep having them renew each year.

Yes and some are terrible, and very over processed.
just look at the winner of booksmarts....
with due respect I find that to be an awful image, ..I didnt vote on that challenge. There were many better than that one.

I think that anyone who wants to do a juried competition at DPC should just do it. Collect names of who wants to participate, pick some volunteer judges, and go to town.
Come up with award icons and hand 'em out.
This is very similar to what we do on Team Suck for the OOBie awards.
levyj413, I think that is already running here, with some side challenges and stuff. I think we need something more "official" that will give us the "real" ribbons.
Maybe SCs are thinking this and probably, hopefully, we hear something soon... with the new DPL and all that ;)
My 8th lowest score ever, my 3rd lowest Free Study score ever. For a (definitely) magazine double spread worthy pic. Think I'm gonna have it printed on large format canvas. What really bothers me is that I don't get any comments (same with my "drewmedia" entry, BTW).

Please post more comments. I don't mind scores that sink like a rock (ok, thats a lie but whatever), so long as you tell my why you're giving me a four instead of a 6 or a 7 or whatever. I would like to get better sometime, instead of making the same mistakes again and again. You probably could have commented on some images during the time it took you to read this thread.

My score must be attached to yours. Its been a while since I have had an update page with three 5+ scores running. Can't wait for at least one to end. Hoping my next entry will get me back into the 6s.
