and yes it looks like Im going to have to replace my 17-40L as after its little swim in sept some of the coatings on the lenses must have been damaged as its acting funny in certain lighting conditions...
ah...you could probobly ebay it for a fraction of the price and someone could pay a ridiculous ammount to have it fixed..

heehee. i'm looking at a canon 75-300 f/4-5.6... my family will give me money for it for christmas and i'll cover the rest later. i'm not crying yet, but i may when i get my hands on it! i'm not sure if yours is supposed to be better than that one, but a good lens is still a good lens, and it's mostly about the photographer. yeah, i felt like i was in the big leagues when i got my rebel. i wanted to go home and get it out right away! anyways, congrats to you!
