I shouldn't. Just sometimes I get ticked off when I really shouldn't let it bother me. I'll let it ride. I'll turn off scores and have nothing more to do with the stupid thing until it resides permanently in my portfolio as a kindly reminder that I really should just sit out challenges once in awhile.
Some people will self-DQ to protect their average score or their reputation. I don't need to protect either of those. :-)
Ooops - remembered I did self-DQ once - I had improper grammar (in German) on my postcard entry and didn't want to offend with it so I pulled it. It actually was scoring well at the time, too.
Hang in there...sometimes the photos start out slow and build back up. Wait and see...

I'm with you......first ever self-DQ........and.....taking down my profile! If I haven't got hit by the trolls and this is my true score...I gotta say that this sucks!
I'll hang and see if I can hit 5.2 by week's end. I really shouldn't mind - I think it's a pretty picture but I'm not strongly attached to it. I didn't mind my last sub-5 score at all because I was very pleased with the picture. I think I mind the low scores more when it's something I thought might please the DPC audience at least a bit and entered it for that reason alone. Silly me!
DITTO! I'm also very strongly attached to this shot and I entered it because I also thought it would please DPC voters. Obviously, I was wrong too. Silly me as well!

I still think I will self-DQ if this doesn't pick up by tomorrow night some. Right now.....I'm down even further. What a hit in the face with cold water!:(
I am no good at math... but know many here are... what vote do you need to get to go from a 6.14 to a 5.5 in one vote... started with a 7 --- 8 votes later not so good... but fun to be back hooked on the update button
WOW I haven't entered a challenge since mid July so I decided to enter this one. I like my shot but the voters seem to critical more now than ever. I have received 5's, 6's, and 7's with some 1 through 3's sprinkled in. Every time my score goes up, it gets kicked down.
I pulled my entry out last minute...glad I did...the thumbnails show some fantastic images so far. will get around to looking at them later...well done everyone

a good start, seems like a few early low scores so maybe some trolls about. Hopefully tommorrow will bring more happy voters. :)
Good day all. I have to say this blows I went to bed after the rollover and had 3 votes with an average of 6.9834 and this morning this is my greeting. Ouch!!!
I worked hard on this one because I had my shot in mind for a long time so I a little put out but still I remain hopeful that the more open minded voters will get what I did and boost me up.(I'm such a sucker for this kind of punishment)
Oh well at least it keeps me close to where I'm normely at.

this is going to be my lowest score in a loooong time. And I was anticipating 6+ with my straightforward, in-the-box, definitely meeting challenge, what I'd call "eye-pleasing" picture. I am baffled.
This is my first entry. I don't mind it right now since it is my first entry. I really like DPC though, I think it will be a nice site to stick with. There is a lot of talent here and I am sure I will learn a lot.
