Good....for the rest of us not running Firefox Mozilla-Cheeky monkey or whatever, this will do quite nicely!
Thanks, Langdon!
Yes, better than how it was before for sure.
My point was that I'd have preferred the site's source code to implement similar functionality to the DPC Mod so you don't need a plug-in.
I don't see this as useful as the DPC Mod.
At least you no longer have to go back to the index page to view the next image in the challenge.
Well, I guess *someone* has to complain, so that will be me. As much as I love the concept of being able to scroll through particular challenge winners, I think the new feature is too intrusive visually.
I would prefer to have the portfolio section removed from the new left-hand column and just show the challenge entries, preferably just forward and backward (next and previous) buttons, without images.
I think I might be the only one that doesn't like it, but I will be heard!
I just find it distracting. I've already found myself looking at one person's portfolio and then getting almost instantly distracted by the pictures on the left. 5 minutes later I've been through 10 different portfolios and lost the original one I was looking at.
I've fixed this problem for myself by collapsing the challenge entries part, but I fear for others that may not realize what is happening to them. I think people are less likely to spend time looking through one portfolio. Good ol American ADD is going to kick in, and it will be uninhibited, clicking madness. It's evil I tell you. Evil.
Edit: Okay, Citymars beat me by a few minutes, but I will still be heard!
Fantastic new toy for us to play with... on looking at someone else's image, it's really great to get a visual placing pop up and also an "invite" as it were to go into their portfolios... nice. Thank you!!
Wow! Nice feature!
I think it could be better only with next and prev buttons closer to the photograph. I found the images thumbnails distracting (the images themselves, the constant image resizing and the two sections). Easily I got lost in what I was watching.
I like it alot. Not just to scroll through challenges (which is a good feature, as this a challenge site) but I LOVE it to go through portfolios. Thank you most kindly!!

Yes, I strongly feel the same way. (Sorry to repeat myself, but it's nice to have De Sousa confirm my opinion!)
I think maybe people who find it distracting will get more used to it over time... maybe not completely, but some. I think the lighter color is a great way to cut down on the distractedness of things.
This image sidebar is showing entries that are in voting when you look at the challenge results for users. For example, I can look at an entry in the free study results and the sidebar will show the motivational poster entry.
Can I just say how much of a pleasure it was to page through the Free Study results? I made it nearly to 50, enjoying each full view and reading the details. (I'll scold those one more who did not enter anything...)

Yes I echo all that: I just "used" it for the first time viewing FS results, and damn it is sweet! Thanx, Langdon & Co...
At first I thought it was a little distracting, then I thought it was VERY distracting... but of course that was all within the first 48 hours. But yes, this was a great way to go through the free study top 100+. I find it helps to close up the portfolio tab and just leave the challenge entries tab open. So once again, thanks for the addition.

HELLO?????
Does nobody find this interesting? I would have thought an all out village burning would have occured by now considering you can now see, in the sidebar, entries from people that are currently in voting. I don't really give a rats, but I'm surprised no one else does.
