I used to call everyone "hoss". i.e. hey, what's up hoss?
And one day i had to pick an email address.....and hoss was taken....so "xhoss" was born.
I put the "x" in there because, i thought it sounded kind of cool, cyber almost.
Plus it was short, and easy to remember with my bouts of alcohol induced black outs ;)
In the late 70s I was in what was supposed to be a band called Eclectic Shock. We used the name General Eclectics for the business/publishing side of things, and I grabbed the shorter version because I ended up having to do everything ....
i like to play golf, and you have to have a good tempo in your swing to hit the ball well. also, i'm often lucky or have good timing, more likely the former. i got this username about 8 or 9 years ago when i played a lot of online golf.
i've had this username in most forums for many years. but, about 5 years ago when yahoo changed their site they made everyone re-apply for their username. a guy up in the northeastern United States grabbed goodtempo before i had a chance to re-apply for it, so every once in a while you might run into him.
i'm still goodtempo wherever i can be but on yahoo chat i'm maximus75228. it's a combination of maximus which is short for maximillian who is on a small Mexican gold coin and a zip code i used to live in.
inspzil... that's pretty odd. Well I used it for my work email. I'm an INSPector and I work in a place called ZILwaukee, so I crammed them together and its just inspzil. I've considered changing it. So it may not stay like that forever. Everyone else just calls me Bob.
mavrik is swahili for "whiny bitch who shoots boring, uninteresting photos."
Or in reality - it was my high school nickname cuz I do things my way or not at all. I decided that the real spelling (maverick) wouldn't work for me because (yep) it's not MY way. So I made it mavrik (hukt ohn fahniks werkt fo' me).
You know for the past two years I have wondered where your name came from. I thought it had to do with a maverick, but the spelling throw me lol

seriously, the band camp (or "bamp camp," as the mimeographed directions said at the top) that we got schlepped to each summer was a total dump. the brochure described a place for us to go swimming and when we got there we saw a pond that was covered in what had to be 1-inch thick green...muck. 100% covered. It would have made a better trampoline than a swimmin' hole. we always referred to it as the "muck pond" -- and a nick was born.
i too was trying to come up with a username for AOL that wasn't something like re1298be4529 or the like. This popped into my head and it stuck. I use it for lots of things now.
bod.
Actually from 1975 so dunno why it's on an 80's nostalgia page :-/
I picked up the nickname in my first year of school and never managed to get rid.
The description on that page probably sums me up quite nicely ... erm, except the cross-dressing bit!
Well my user name is very Australian. Pretty much in Australia you take the first few letters of a your name, up to I guess the first vowle and then add a 'z' to the end of it. My name also doubles up though as I have usernames which are 'lorettaoz' which is made up of my real name and the nick name, however that name represents that my name is loretta and I am from oz too. (since that is a nick for Australia).
I worked at Sea World in Fl for 3 years. While I was there a whale died :( her name was (I thought Nukkta) so I took it as my screen name in her memory. Turns out her name was Nutuka. But its the thought that counts. This has been my creen name fro 10 years.
Coming from New Zealand I wanted to use "kiwi" as my nick but it was already gone on this site. So kiwiness is just a mixture of "kiwi" and "highness", as in His Royal Kiwiness :-)
