Bugger, I completely forgot! I am doing a commercial photography course and they allow to observe professional photographers work in the studio, so I booked two sessions worth of shadowing for this Saturday morning, and one visit to their professional digital lab on Monday.
LOL!
No worries... I think we'll still get a nice GTG and don't forget we'll be doing some more so all you people with poor excuses (only kidding) will be expected to get your fingers out of your ears and make it to the next one!!!
:D
I think I'm going to give it a miss. My bicycle was stolen this afternoon (from a place with a burger van and several buildings overlooking it) and the police said there's a viewing of recovered bikes at a nearby police station on Saturday, so I want to be there. Also, I'm going to have to shell out for a new bike, most likely, and don't want to spend the cash it costs to get me into the city.
I'm giving up a lot of other potential things I could be doing this weekend to come down to London for this meeting...
if most people aren't going to be there, there's so much else I need to do that I'm wondering if this is worth my while.
I still really want to make it though, depending on how many are left,
can we have a definite number soon guys please?
Cheers,
Bob
ps, sorry to hear about the bike, and have a good day with your shadowing thingy...
Well, no response, and I need to make plans, so I'm afraid I'm going to drop out. The next time there's a meeting, put it in your diaries everyone! I'll certainly come to the next one though.
Well so far we DID have me, Pete (Ganders), Bob and mrs, Manic and one of my friends also into photography.
I kind of agree Bob, given that so many have dropped out for various reasons or made other plans since we originally settled on the date, we might as well drop it for now and rearrange some other time.
Someone else want to start over with a new date on a new thread?
20th Sept is still an option... or we could make longer plans for sometime in Oct/Nov... We could even go to the Albert Hall to see Konador's piccie :o)
I will try to keep an eye on the thread in case I can make it, but I don't want to commit as I'm a bit low on cash (and the bike thing certainly hasn't helped). I am also away a few times over the next few months.
I think that part of the problem last time around was the date was a long way off when it was set and was half forgotten, but I'm not sure how to get around that as people's calendars are often full in the near future.
I think the date has to be set reasonably far in advance to allow us to find a date that works for most people.
I think the solution to half forgetting it is simply to put it in the diary when it's first agreed so that it's easier not to accidentally double book.
There are always going to be some cancellations - work comes first and so do many other personal things - if a friend announces their wedding on that date, if one has to work and, of course, if one has a family illness or other misfortune. That's life and that's as it should be!
