I know a lot of the digitals have an "intervalometer" on them now... I only just discovered I had one. Would be most handy if you have any more caterpillars, so you can get intermittent shots every minute or 30 seconds, or something
And yes I know I'm not very good at insect macros. The really bad part about that is it probably decreases my chances of getting a ribbon by 60%. Oh well... inanimate things are easier anyway.

Funny you should mention that Karen. I've been thinking about collage, but it should have at least 6 images, the caterpillar, then 2 or 3 of the chrysalis and/or 2 or 3 of the newly emerged butterfly. It would be pretty busy, but fun to do. Any suggestions on setting up something like that would be gratefully accepted! 8-) I'm so glad you all enjoyed the series. If you'd like to show your appreciation, members can go to the future challenge, figure out which one is mine and recalculate your scores to drag it out of scoring hell. TIA~
Maybe somehow do the emerged butterfly just off center on a large canvas. Then, place the other photos (2 or 4 more.. to make the whole thing have an uneven number of photos for interest) around it... partially overlapping... maybe a bit transparent. I'd love to see what you come up with! Have fun with it!
I've got a draft of the caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly collage done. I parked it here collage because DPC is going very slo(dem) for me tonight. 8-(
I would really appreciate any suggestions for improving the positioning, appearance, etc.
I like the notion of a collage, but the way you have it now.. they all are blending into each other and its not obvious that you are documenting the process. Did you consider using fewer pictures and maybe a border?
Also, I like that the caterpillar is the big picture, but I think that the butterfly as the main picture would be a strong choice too! :)
Maybe just a triptych (sp?) with just three images, then? It would be a lot easier and could be more definitive of the progress through the three stages. Hmmmm. I think I'll try that. Thanks, Frisca!

I did like what you came up with Kava'. It was more of a mosaic than a traditional multi image.. and seemed fairie-like! Work on it a bit. I felt I had walked into the butterfly world! :) My first impression was "wow!" ;)
