Once again I am forced to endure the ignominy of violating an unwritten set of challenge expectations.
As I understand the scientific method, Observation is the first step in the recreation of any hypothesis. "Scientific Method requires that a hypothesis must be observable & recreatable to be considered fact."
Any step along the continuum qualifies for this challenge. My scores need to be upgraded again because once again I did not DNMC! I'm heavy on observation, but my photo is of good quality as always. This is how I do science.I observe for a very long time to get as many details as possible, then I find my solution.

Yeah, OK, I guess I'm not all that different, I'm certainly not giving every "frog" a '1'. On average I guess I took 2-3 points off for those entries.
Is it just frogs or are there other images you feel do not fit the challenge?
Haha, "frog" was just because there was a frog discussion above in this forum. Actually, my highest vote goes to a picture of an animal! But there are some "science things" in the picture as well, not just the animal.
Generally, I think shoehorning is fine, but only as long as your shoe-horn-idea is somewhat unique. I know the challenge said something about "subject of science", so I'm not disrespecting anyone because they submitted a pic of nature as it is, and I don't care if everyone else votes different than me.
In a way, I'm only downgrading these images because in the context of "science" the idea of taking a macro photo of a small animal is too common. If dozens of people would have submitted photos of say exploding test tubes you would have gotten tired of that idea just as well...
I do not give out 1's or 2's UNLESS the picture is completely shitty. I think I may have given about 5 1's the entire time I have been on this site so even if a submission DNMC I still grade on color, quality, subject, matter, how sexy she is, and some other stuff.
So even though I didn't think that a frog was science I still have those folk’s normal scores.

Well that would make this 100% a free study because you could rationalize any shot imaginable and tie it to a science regardless if it conveys that in the photograph. Not that I care since I'm not in this one and probably won't even vote. :P
