The rest were 6 or below. I gave a whole mess of fives. I've come to the conclusion that the lower scores have nothing to do with the DPL, but rather lower quality...strike that...not lower quality, a stiffer challenge. Selective Desat/Color is not easy to pull off. Subtly is the key, I think. You also have to have a decent B&W photo from which to begin. I think an important step is to make a B&W version of all of your SD candidates to see if they can stand on their own as a B&W. If they can't do that, then adding a splash of color isn't going to help them very much.
It is very easy to go overboard on the color choices, too. I also noticed that a lot of folks over saturated their color choices to make those blues pop out even more. I don't think that is a necessary step in most cases.
I thought my photo was pretty damned good, but since I am hanging out just above a 5, I guess I need to go back to the drawing board and keep working on it myself. I hope that another challenge such as this is in the works for the future.
As usual, if I vote on a challenge, then I score every single one. 100% or nought.
I don't think it is fair to cherry pick. Everyone who enters a challenge deserves a vote...and a fair vote. I don't even think of voting lower because I have entered the same challenge. I vote on what I like, what meets the challenge and a certain amount of WOW factor. But, I also take into account that the most PP'd shot doesn't always get the highest vote.

I have finished voting and going over them for any adjustments. Will add some comments over the next couple of days and maybe do a final readjust to the scores. Quite a few really good shots, heaps in the middle that were OK but didn't have the WOW factor for me and them some that scored low. Now to address the RSI in my right hand.
Wow, some of you people give out a lot of 10s. So far I average 3-5 10s per regular challenge, with 10 10s in the March Free Study. In other words, about 2-3%.
As for my first entry, I'm not surprised by having fewer votes than views, but I am surprised that out of 550+ entries, my photo (or any photo) has only 250 views. Granted there are still some days remaining to vote, but I thought everyone who had an entry would at least take the time to view every photo at least once.
