I'm celebrating being done with my first semester of grad school and starting out my warm weather shooting with a trip to Red Rocks - Red Rocks Trail, the Morrison Slide, the amphitheater and such. Saturday morning, May 19th! I figure I'll hike all morning and lunch at the Blue Cow in Morrison. Any takers? (Contingent on good weather, of course.)

Yup! I'm there with or without y'all - just thought that with a little notice I might be able to drum up some company!
BTW, I'm also going to do Roxborough this Saturday, if anyone is interested. The weather report looks really excellent.
It's possible I may be there in the morning, when were you planning on being there?
I dunno... I've been thinking 7am. Roxborough would be excellent for a horizontal eastern light.
Timing at Red Rocks is less important since it's blocked by Green Mountain at sunrise, the amphitheater is practically a hole in the ground, and sunset is behind the Hogback. Choosing a time there is more of a consideration of how much heat you want to put up with since noon on Morrison Slide can be brutal.
Give me a couple of days to make sure, but I can probably meet you at Roxborough. You may want to check the Parks website, the last time I was out there they weren't opening the gates until 8am. They constantly change the park hours out there!
Dang it! Everytime you Denver folks get together it conflicts with my schedule! This time it is with my wifes birthday. I would love to come, I visit Roxborough all the time. You guys will have some great shots for sure.
I also emailed and invited Martin(mwitt) since we'd been talking about getting together. Kind of short notice, so I don't know if he'll get the message in time.
Your trek around Red Rocks sounds like a great time. Unfortunately I can't join you this time, as I'll be in Fruita that weekend. Hope to join you another time though!
