I'm looking to print some of my photos onto canvas and wanted to see where you all have done it and who I might get the best results from and prices. Thanks ahead of time...
Canvasondemand.com does a very good job also. There prices aren't great but I have been happy with there work when we used them. If you want a custom size it is probably best to find a print shop in your area to work with.
Bay Photolabs does a REALLY nice job, are very fast, and are relatively cheap. Plus, new members get 1/2 off their first order, so if you're going to print a few of them, do it at the same time and you'll save A LOT!
Hey Cindi, have you ordered the stretched canvas from them? I love MPix for regular photos but I ordered one of my photos as a canvas on matboard and was less then impressed. It was using the Metallic print so maybe that was a bad choice on my part.
I've yet to order another canvas print from them, but have been looking into getting some gallery wraps done and was wondering if I should try with them again.

I personally don't like gallery wraps, but one of my pro-buds loves them and only orders from Mpix / Millers. I've seen many of his and they do look great.
Thanks from me also...I order everything from Mpix, but yes the prices for the canvas were a little steep. I was just making sure there wasn't a hidden jewl out there I wasn't aware of.
WinkFlash offers the canvas wraps at a reasonable price. I just placed my first order for prints with them but haven't been able to judge the quality as of yet.
There are two ways to get images on canvas and you may have to ask how they do it - if you have a preference.
Giclee is a fancy word for inkjet printing on fabric. this can be dye or pigment. Pigment will last longer. If you display this without protection ( like you might a gallery wrap or stretcher print) near the sun you will get fading or color shifting over time. Perhaps a year, maybe 50 - but i'd bet after 2 or 3 if you compared it to a fresh print it'd be noticeable.
The 'better' method, and I call it that cause a)it's rareer to find b)you can't do it at home and 3)it should last longer is to take a real photo print, thin the paper by separating the layers, and then heat pressing it onto canvas. the texture is a bit less than the inkjet method, but the color is better.
