I just voted this challenge. I find it fascinating what a huge per4centage of the entries are in the general category of despair-loneliness-hopelessness-dark-moody etc etc. This is by no means true of all classic street photography; Cartier-Bresson, for example, was a pretty upbeat viewer-of-life... It seems like at least half of DPCers see "street" as synonymous with "poverty" and 'decay" and "old age".

Sign of the times I expect, in Cartier-Bressons heyday the world was a much simpler place to be and people generally had that more upbeat view of life..
Because I shouldn't have entered....and the score reflects that.
What are the conditions to ask for a self DQ?? I just couldn't find it.
I think below 5 for Judi... Below 3 for me... and below 6 for some other "pro"s :P

Another way to think about it, sometimes it's worth it to sit it out in spite of a low score because you might learn something from the comments you get.
Ivan, don't self DQ just for a low score. It's a challenge - nothing more. Just let it ride. In fact, turn off scores - makes life so much easier!
Great advice, that is what I am going to do. I don't really care about the low score. BUT I CAN'T STAND LOOKING AT IT ALL THE TIME!!! I'm going crazy LOL

As Judi mention those are probably scoring well. I know the last time I entered something like that for the Beetles challenge it did quite well. To be frank, any time you have a strong photogenic model/subject you have to do a lot to screw things up NOT do well.
Anyway, I went a different direction this time and I'm paying for it but that's because it just doesn't have enough eye candy. The scene just didn't lend itself to it.
