ok, well I admit I haven't read all the responses here, so if this is double on the info I'm sorry.
Ken Rosenthal is one of my most favorit photographers. I know there is a group of people trying to do this digitaly but thats not it at all. he uses a 4 by 5 film camera, sometimes useing a pinhole lens on the camera. I have a very good friend that is doing it rather well with photoshop, here is his deviant art account, he really is something else
