I feel qualified to vote only when I am in the game...otherwise I am just a spectator! But it is hard to know I am getting a 5.5 and then vote a 7.0 for a good photo I know isn't better than mine. Sooooo....in that way, I feel it helps me be objective, and grow! But, my battery photo is in the mid-fives...some good titles too. LET'S VOTE HERE ON THE BEST TITLE, not the best photo...mmm????
I didn't participate in this challenge but I have to say that most of these pictures are just batteries laying around. Very few submissions have something interesting about them.
You will find that the ones WITHOUT batteries laying around will score higher than quite a few that require some thought into the picture...or what I am assuming are called "abstract". I predicted what kind of comments I would get (when I submitted my picture description), and I will be darned if over night I didn't already get them lol. At least people are commenting - that is nice! So I either suck, or I am too abstract of a thinker. I may make it a mission from here on out to totally confuse everyone with my pictures...
I thought there were a lot of creative pictures in this challenge. And also looks like there was quite a bit of time setting up a few of them too. I never knew there were so many good ways to take a picture of a battery!
FWIW - all this is coming from a person who scored a 4.7 on her last abstract and is currently scoring a 4.9 on this one. (At least I am being consistent!) :o)
Well, down a whole point overnight! Gosh darn it! All I can hope for is the good fairy running around and bestowing points on photographs that suck I suppose :D O WELL...
Oh boy - this submission is really bombing, as I knew it would. I'm still learning... I'm still learning... Nevertheless, I'm kicking myself that I submitted it at all. Haven't I heard something about a self-DQ? How does that work? :o)
This is only my 3rd challenge and I feel like I'm storming home to a brown ribbon . .
I think changing my mind at the last minute from a pattern to something whimsical in the battery challenge was a big mistake.
But hey! I keep telling myself it's only a bit of fun. Then I tell myself again . . and again . . I'd stop looking at my score - but it's like a slo-mo car crash fascinating and terrible at the same time. lol.
This was definitely a tough challenge to photograph - no worries, just keep shooting.

Ah, Color.......I know what you mean. I'm not sure what works in here and what doesn't.....besides the "Greats" (whom I can't compete against *sigh*), the harder I try, the worse my scores!
But, has anyone noticed the 1's and 2 votes? Those just IRK me to no end! No one's shots in any of these competitions deserve that low a score! The only time that should happen is if someone submits a photograph that was snapped by accident of the floor or side of a table! *grin*
Gotta be a lot of TROLLS. There's not even any comments to explain that low a score. Someone cut their little voting fingers off! *evil grin*
This should be a record in dropping score. I had 6.22 last night with 20 votes and now this afternoon with 99 votes I have a 5.2 and dropping. It has been dropping ALL DAY.
wonder if i should start a "does not meet challenge thread ?
The competition title is in the singular so why are there so many images with more than one AA Battery in it?
Honestly I dont care there are some great shots and I won't let this little discrepancy influance my vote.
Hope you all do well.
Ben
Gah, why don´t you bother reading the description before making statements like this? Here, I´ll copy paste it for ya with bold emphasis on parts that might interest you.
AA Batteries (also known as LR6) are used in virtually all small portable electronics and toys, so now's your chance to take them out of their compartments and show as many of them as you like to the world!
As far as I can see it should almost pretty much be the other way around and the shots with only one battery would not meet the challenge if you really want to get down and be anal about it, who cares though?
My highest score I've seen yesterday was a 5.65. Even worse, only one of five comments was helpful, the other commenters just didn't get the picture. Can please ask someone to DQ my image?
