Which are you unimpressed with, the Tokina? or the Canon? It occurs to me that I could get the Tokina instead of the Canon and pick up a Sigma 70-200 2.8. Might be stretching a tad, but not much...

I suggest that before you discount the 10-22, you take a look at what Bear_Music has done with it. Also, while the difference between 10mm and 12mm may not seem like much, it can be significant.
Lol, yeah, last time I tried getting the bears to come in the "studio" they were strangely uncooperative. Actually, my brother and I did manage to get a bird to land on his head the last time we were out there. I have a nice picture of it somewhere...
I'd go for the Canon EF-S 10-22mm and the EF 24-105mm L IS USM; if you can bear being without that all important 23mm focal length. Might set you back a little more though.
