Goodbye Canon S3, hello Pentax! Picked mine up an hour ago along with a couple lenses, waiting for the battery to charge. I really enjoy the way the K10D feels in my hand though, very beefy, very solid. This thing is a beast that looks and feels like it eats Rebels for breakfast. Of course, being new to DSLR, Im sure any decent camera would impress me...
It looks like a nice sunset is developing here in Vancouver. Perfect chance to break in my new camera!

The sunset never really panned out...too many clouds moved in on the horizon, so there was no red sky.
Heres one shot though, I left it alone aside from levels. Jpeg, all default camera settings, ISO 100. You can see the strong vignetting on the 18-55. Meh, it was cheap and I'm not loaded.
I love the build (as I said before) and its alot more fun to use than my point and shoot. That said, its also alot more complicated! I have a long way to go and alot of learning to do before I can start getting the most out of my new camera. It's a process that I really look forward too...
How about one of you K10D owners giving us an objective review ? I know it's hard to be truly objective - especially if you have only had experience with Pentax - (or for that matter it is hard to critise your own gear) - but it would be great to get owners breakdown on the likes and dislikes of this beast. I'm now using Canon so unlikely to change over to Pentax - but - I must admit when I read about this machine it seemed to be the most exciting body to come out in a while. Especially for travel - weathproof body etc.
So - come on - give us an honest review. No favourtism hear.

not bad, not bad!! like the colours, a bit dark in front though.
I just got mine, it's charging it's battery now. Can't wait to take it out for a spin. Although I'm mostely a portrait photoprapher and the weather is very stormy and rain all the time. So I'll take it for a spin in my studio :)
