Will be a fun challenge to comment on since I recently re-watched the movies.. though my favourite James Bond memory has nothing to do with the movies.. Described him a slut at the age of seven in front of my parents... Freaked them both out for different reasons..
Well I never expected to see such a negative response to this challenge. To those of you who think Bond is Dumb and sexist please remember that Bond was created way back in the 50's by Ian Flemming. It was a different time and much of what we consider today to be sexist was just the norm back then. Try to have fun with this challenge, there are so many aspects of Bond that don't include women or sex. If you don't like the idea, don't enter this challenge. I'm looking foward to see what people are going to do, I've already got tons of ideas and have since I'm the one who suggested this challenge.

People also seem to be really concentrating on the movies. I admit I am a Bond fan, but I always thought the books were better than the movies- but I do own virtually every movie (except the Timothy Daltons- hated those and a few of the Roger Moores are missing as well).
Yeah, I was serious about the challenge, i thought it would be great fun, still do. I also agree that Timothy Dalton sucked as Bond. My fav so far is still Sean Connery, followed closely by Pierce. I've heard good things about the new guy but will reserve judgement till I see the movie.
My last name used to be Bond before I got married :-) Tried to talk my husband into taking my last name, as it was slightly cooler...but couldn't quite pull it off.
Can't wait to rack the brain and remember all the classic Bond films I've seen to come up with an idea.
Been doing a bit of research and IMO this challenge is WAY outside the means of a LOT of the photogs on this site.
Not many have access to the sets, models, props, lighting to produce a Bond-esque shot.
Huh? I've got 3 ideas sketched out so far, none involve sets, models or expensive props (2 do require some lighting). The third I think may be a little too abstract for the DPC voters, but I might do that one just to see the response.

You know, that's so true!! I never even got the chance to date a James....didn't really ever know that many. It's ok though, I still get to make all the jokes I want about being a Bond Girl :-)
Personally, with all the thousands of challenges that are inn this alleged database, this one was recently suggested and quite frankly, is stupid. What if you have no knowledge of Bond? I have never seen one, always thought they were sexist and really dumb.

And in all fairness, I never found Bond that appealing myself. Not because of the sexism, but that they were just dumb.

Well, I don't see what all the whining is about. There are four challenges going on right now, and all of them are due to expire in a week or less. So, if you're not interested in James Bond, do the other three and see what replaces them next week. Maybe you all have more time than me, but there's no way I could do all the challenges on this site. (Of course, that may be because my limited creativity makes it tough for me to think of subjects to shoot.) I think this one could be a lot of fun; but I also think it will be tough.

One thing that suprised me about James Bond, and I wonder if this will be used someway in the entries...but Bond would have been a great role model for safe sex...and yet....he never practised it...lol!!

aaanyway I'm a huge Bond fan and I think it's a good theme. You don't need to mimic a Bond flick exactly. It's more about the glamour and fantasy. High powered spy world, lots of gadgets, nice clothes, martinis and cars.
..although my current idea is coming at the subject rather diagonally.
