joynim, you make a good point that perhaps we didn't stress enough. No special software is required to play this show and you don't have to have an mp3 player or ipod. You can listen to the file straight from your computer. Those who have portable mp3 players have the benefit of being able to listen anywhere they go (out for a walk, on a plane, in a car, etc) but there is no need for anything special. Just a computer, an internet connection and speakers!
I like what you are doing here and agree with hokie. Keep up the good work! Sound quality is getting better, but could still do with some improvement. It is still quite tinny and suffers from a lot of incidental noise (breathing etc) I suppose that's what all those screens/ foam mufflers over high end mics are for, but I'm no audio engineer.
I don't think you can clone out twigs in basic (but try it if you like ;)
& I don't think the site council even get their membership paid, least we didn't used to. It's all love...

Oy vey! Maybe I can find some kind soul already in DPC who feels I deserve to have a transcript as a "reward" for all my "teaching", and do it gratis? Fat chance, LOL; sounds like a lot of work. I wonder if I can use the Americans With Disabilities Act to force compliance, jejeje™

Things like Dragon Naturally Speaking might work, but they'd need to be trained for the voices of the speakers. Also the audio quality would need to be significantly better.

We can get the audio there, what if you just had each guest say a "training phroase" before the show to allow you to train Dragon to do the translation. Would that work, or will it not do multiple profiles in the same session?

It takes several hours to train that sort of software to work reasonably well. Not sure that they have a multiple speaker version either. It didn't used to.
Edit: Just had a look - Dragon / Nuance now claim it doesn't need any training. Would cost about $899 for the software.
Sound was much better on Lee this time around. The Joey interview was certainly a lot clearer than Bryan Peterson, but I still had to crank up the volume to hear it. Biggest problem with that is the difference in levels between interviewer and interviewee. Huge volume jumps when you switched between speakers was tough to listen to.
I think maybe more interviews and less follow-on discussion about discussions that have already been done to death in the forums ?
