I was going to take a macro of a birthday candle, but as so commonly and oftentimes happens in the Shuford house, they were no where to be found so . . .birthday=presents (not that I got any)=wrapping paper= bows.

edit -- yea, i know it was technically posted on the 13th, but it was intended for the 12th. My days are about 5 hours off of everyone else's in Western North Carolina. :)

Sorry I'm late. I shot at the Kater Street Garden on Monday especially for the 30 Day Macro. This is the first.

Went ahead and did day one and two.

These are actually done with just a regular lens. With my camera I got a knock off brand wide angle lens mount and if you screw it a piece off voila! you get a macro. Only not really. It's nearly impossible to focus, as is the regular lens... but that is easier.

So yes these might be slightly out of focus! LOL. Did the best I could, anyone with this camera... or anyone in general with any advice, I would appreciate it!

Hopefully this challenge will help my better understand my camera's macro settings (and kick me in the pants to get a real macro lens)

Shot this one and yesterday's using a 55mm f/1.8 Super-Takumar reversed on my lens. Gets you extremely close. Very little DOF though.
