As oneo f my challenges for the GTG I decided to master Dutch - had a couple of weeks so I figured no problem to an English guy who can barely speak English.
Looks like I may need more time - say a decade or two - to get anywhere near understanding the throat affliction that is the language of the Nederland. Sigh - I hate to fail :-)
Have to confess that I now know that gekke is crazy but what does "weet" mean??? I suspect it is more Dutch slang along the lines of muts :-)

Just realised I am on the "good ones" list - and I am devastated! All of my adult life I have tried to come across as mean, hard, a dude to be reckoned with - no more Mr Nice Guy. And what happens? I am on a "good ones" list - again!

PPS I am currently decorating a rather large area of the house and need to get it finished before I leave for Amsterdam on Thursday. However, due to work commitments, that just leaves today and tomorrow to do about 3 days work. So instead of getting on with it I am sitting here complaining about being on the good list. It seems that I am more Mr Procrastination than Mr Nice Guy.
The location where we are going to meet next Saturday is "De Restauratie" @ track 1a (in dutch spoor 1a) @ Central Station. This is the same location as in januari and easy to find.
We are going to meet there at 12.00. Half an hour later, when everyone is present, I think we will walk around town a bit and see where it goes. Last time I had this great plan and nothing came of it. :)
I tried to hire a guide, but they were either very expensive or wanted the group splitted up. So no guide. I have a Rembrandt walking route and I think we will walk parts of that route to check out where Rembrandt got all those bright ideas. On the way there will be pubs, probably pannekoeken, have dinner together, drink a couple of beers and stuff like that. When the weather is crap there are plenty musea's and exhibitions to check out. Someone has also threatened to shoot me when we don't do a canal tour.... You know who you are!
When Hanneke goes home I have to leave you for a moment, she has to be at the trainstation by 18.00.
If people want to hang out on Sunday, let's discuss that saturday ok.
Oh, almost forgot: Bring your camera!
