I did not enter this challenge, but systematically going through the almost 400 images...the way I see it most were low contrast, perfect contrast, neautral contrast...very few were high contrast...maybe 10%...could the challenge have been better explained with an example (like for the latest two challenges) cause this one looks more like a FREE STUDY than HIGH CONTRAST...what does everyone else think?
HotPasta - what would it matter? Loose definition, strict definition. People submit what they want and then argue that it is your problem for not seeing how clever they were in thinking outside the box.

you're right, but it's frustrating wanting to vote on all images and leave meaningful comments when it was really more of a FREE STUDY...we already had a thousand images to vote on in the last free study :-)

Halfway through voting and so far most have been, to put it bluntly, total crap. One or two gems and some good high contrast but quite a lot with quite low contrast, but mostly just not very good photos. After voting on the free study last night (and giving out 34 9's and over 100 8's) this is a bit of comedown. hopefully the second half is an improvement.

good...I thought I was the only one...
No, you're not alone. I also did not enter and I'm half-way through voting finding only about 30 - 40% actually meet any liberal definitions of "high-contrast" (in my opinion, of course). But thanks to dr_timbo I know where I'll be spending more time voting next.
