Wow - I must say that I am really stunned with this. I thought I had a shot at top ten easily but now I guess I have to figure out how I DNMC. I am totally confused.
Thanks for your comment Loki! It seems you and a couple of others are the only ones who got my two unrelated items shot. Last thing I expected was a possible DNMC but with the way this score is going it sure looks like it:
8.5 -> 7 -> 6.55 -> 6.2 -> 6.0 -> 5.86
i don't know, yanky... that looks almost exactly like mine, and i'm sitting on a 5.9 right now. hopfully all the angry voters are done and all the happy voters will pull it back up...
I believe this will be a comparatively low score challenge, primarily because of confusion about the challenge description by voters and entrants alike. Some voters do not seem to read the challenge description while others take the description very literally.

I know what you mean. I thought I had a contender also and I am quite stunned by my score. I would have pegged this to do much better than my Abstract Macro shot so I guess something is terribly wrong with it. I can't believe it's DNMC because I shot this to the letter of the challenge:
1. Only two things in the photo and only two things - CHECK
2. Both are unrelated to each other - CHECK
3. Make some sense out of their combination - DOUBLE, TRIPLE CHECK!
4. Oh and make sure it's a nice looking photo - CHECK
After reading my second comment received it seems #3 might be going over people's heads which I never would have expected. I thought it was an incredibly simple concept but I guess I miscalculated. Heck, I'm not getting most of the other entries in this challenge many with more than two things so that alone can't be the thing that is holding this back. Argh! Oh well, back to frustration.

I think this, other than the more than two objects thing, could be the main reason for low scores. I'm looking forward to the results as there are some shots I just dont 'get'.
I really liked this challenge title as it got me thinking about exactly what was in the photo, even down to 'does the table the objects are on count as a third object'!!!
