Threads like this, with a sarcastic bent, serve no purpose really. Nobody anywhere is getting rid of humor and silliness.
I don't know when humor and silliness became equated with a plea to stop threadjacking and to cut back on sexual/erotic posting and/or innuendo, but that seems to be the over-reaction that I, personally, have been seeing around here. Someone asks for something, and BOOM, suddenly "nobody can have fun anymore! OMG! THE SKY IS FALLING!"
Seriously.. we *all* need to just calm down and stop taking things so personally.
IMO, this thread is just a symptom of those over-reactions.. as were 90% of the posts in response to the original threads that started all this hoopla and nonsense.
Yes, DPC is a better place for those that can stay light-hearted and fun.. but it's recognizing when to stop that is key.. when to be fun, and when to be serious.. when to post, and when not too..
And maybe we can get back to things that made this website something to stay with in the beginning... and maybe stop all the childish back-and-forthing that's been going on and leave that to the debates in Rant.

I don't like the smell, which is why I won't allow any post to upset me.
I prefer a light-hearted approach.
And if something really serious is going down, appeal to reason (don't whine), and move on. There'll be plenty other people adding their 2 cents worth, so if the person wants to learn, they'll eventually get the picture, and it'll blow over.
If not, at least you're not losing sleep over it, and tomorrow you can give 'em a good old-fashioned dose of DPC luvin'
