I will likely not be able to tell the difference between shots taken with your Minolta or the Canon. Your style in editing would work with a 3mp Kodak or the 12mp Canon.
I'm sure the Canon will give you control in other aspects of photography.
Well the truth is I had to turn down a bunch of jobs because I couldn't produce full res pictures with enough size. I also got better quality, easier editing (had to correct the other originals a lot), more dof, more choice of lenses, and low light capability. You know, all the usual stuff you get with an SLR. :-P

I know what you mean about spending less time editing with this camera, just love the full frame look. For example, I think I spent about 2-3 minutes editing my magic & mystery shot even though it was an advanced editing challenge.
Joey, I'm just wondering why you went with a 5D, and the Canon EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM, versus a 30D and maybe 2 lenses that are a little higher quality. I'm sure that the 28-135 will be a great range on the Full sensor body, but did you consider a different set-up?
I can't answer for him, but I'm guessing it's so he can upgrade lenses as he can afford it, while still being able to get decent results with that lens in the meantime because the body is so good.

I think you have had to do things the old fashion way - therefore have got the most out of every camera/situation etc. The best way to learn and fine tune. I think this is what kenskid was referring to.
(now you will have to start looking for lenses).

The 28-135 IS is an amazing lense when used in the correct situations. I needed a medium-range lense but I hate switching lenses to get that extra telephoto I always seemed to be lacking. I've pulled up my images at 100% and they look just as good and sharp as L-glass. The price was intriguing too, I was able to get a deal and this lense turned out cheaper than 250$ Canadian. To me it has slightly less color rendition than more expensive lenses, which is pointless to buy for my style of work.
I chose the 5D because of it's range and latitude with the full frame sensor, I was also very impressed with it overall after borrowing one from Nasti (Anastasia). I've been getting into a lot of more professional work lately and I need the kibibbles, if I didn't I would have gone with the 20D. :-)
Just two lenses you gotta try with this baby, that is a 50mm, any kind, doesn´t really matter if it´s the 1.8 or 1.4 version. Great for shallow dof and full body shots, well all around really and should suit your style perfectly and if you want even shorter dof and cooler bokeh, get the 85mm 1.8, shouldn´t set you back too much and perfect for just throwing that backround right out of focus with no problems. Joey, dude! Welcome to Team 5D! You are going to love that cam. I fully concur with Larus, stick a fast prime on there... 50m or 85mm would be great... and have fun!
FWIW, the bokeh on the 50/1.4 is *much* nicer than the 50/1.8

I hear ya on the switching lenses...I use the 28-75 most of the time...but it's a bitch inside as it's just not quite wide enough....and I do like my 18-55 but it's just not long enough! The three I'm contemplating are: 24-105L, 24-70L, or 17-85.....I wanna try them before I decide which one to buy though.

Bear, there I was comparing it to my Mintola camera. It has a mounted lense and you can achieve very little DOF even at 2.8
