A saying when people ask about great buys on cameras online here at DPC usually receives the automatic response "If it's too good to be true, it must be".... unfortunately it seems to be the case with Rikki as well.
Just a note to some folks....people that usually have a dysfunctional behaviour (lying,cheating,etc.) ...have it in "all" parts of their lives...not just one area. NOt trying to be ugly...just realistic.

Then why is my entry gone? Just disappeared within the last hour just before the site went down. I went to take one last look at my entry, and it was gone 2 minutes before the site went down. Not only that, but my b/w entry hasn't been validated yet? It's been nearly 5 or 6 days since I sent it in. What is going on here?
What's going on is that you're bringing up completely unrelated personal issues in an unrelated thread instead of dealing with it through proper channels, like submitting a ticket.

so... maybe off topic. but my brother has been thinking about making an account on here now that he has finally taken up a photo hobby... would that be ok if we didn't vote for each other? even though we live in the same house?

As the site admin for the WPL Rikki did not win any money. We (at the WPL) only participate as a team league and the only thing to win is bragging rights.
I hate to hear this about Rikki I thought a lot of him. I think it is respectable for him to offer his apologies. However the integrity of this site must be maintained not matter who violates the rules.
So what happens now? Do all of the challenges Rikki cheated in have their scores recalculated after removing all the illegal votes? ...or does everyone just move up one place that was below Rikki?
I'm bummed. I always enjoyed his images and comments. I also don't take issue with letting him rejoin in the future. I am impressed with those who run this site for investigating and taking action.
I hope that this will help send a message to anyone else out there who has a voting army behind them. I am glad that DPC has the resources to maintain the site's integrety!

I'm in total shock and feel no sympathy for rikki and his actions. As a fellow 20D team member I can assure you and everyone else this has nothing do with the 20D team and I for one have never seen or wished to see anyone's challenge entry before or during a challenge.
I feel this blatant cheating has tainted our teams credability and hope that SC can clarify the situation that this does not involve any fellow 20D team members.
I could stomach Rikki's apology if he had only done it once or twice before coming clean and admitting it.
He cheated over 30 times to a degree never seen on DPC.
I don't believe he regrets cheating, betraying the community of DPC or those he called his "friends" one bit. I think the only reason he's apologizing is that he got caught and his contrition is totally fake.
For starters lets remember that all DPC hands out are virtual ribbons, which mean squat. Nobody has lost anything except him. He's lost the trust of a lot of people and that more than anything is what he is upset about. What he did was definitely wrong but he's not some hack that just came in trying to screw with DPC. No, he came here like everyone else did to grow as a photographer, which he did if you just look at his images from start to finish. Fact is he's a pretty good photographer with very good images many of which would still out score mine without the buddy votes as sad as that is for me. :P
Seriously, what he did was very wrong but I'll forgive him because I know he is a good man. I for one hope he does return just so he can clear his name. That's all.
ETA: This wasn't any attempt to devalue anybody else's opinions. I can totally understand if some refuse to accept his apology.
Please keep all posts on-topic -- this issue will be complex enough without dragging in other issues or users. Posts which are deemed off-topic or defamatory will be hidden immediately -- and please don't start another thread about it or censorship.
I just feel sad... he was a decent photographer and could have stood on his own merits.. maybe he wanted to be popular and one way to be popular would be to win ribbons.. ... just sad.. no doubt the rest will be exposed as well which is a good thing and I thank SC for their diligence.
Would like to see his profile, perhaps with a note attached as to why he's being suspended, and all his images, just for the record.
Removing his profile from the site simply wipes this off the record. But keeping his profile accessible shows that someone who has violated some basic rules has been caught and dealt with.
