Ok folks. But like somebody said earlier, there sure are alot that don't fit that criteria either. Am I a troll??? ( I have given some 8's, 9's and one 10 though)
There are quite a few photos that I can not really figure out what or where the food comes into the picture, very abstract, but seems that without visible food it really isn't staying completely on topic.
I think abstract can be viewed many ways, after reading this thread I googled abstract images and found a wide selection, 100's of styles.
edit to add. I haven't voted yet and plan to give all the photos a much closer look when I do. Maybe after that I will see something I may have missed first time around. I will pay closer attention to the titles as well.
Also find the very unusual display of food as an abstract if the lines and overall shape aren't totally abstract. Abstract images are after all very much open to interpretation , and opinions may widely vary?
I think that abstract is just a word they used to define art that they couldn't put into any other category, lol... like mine, haha
but seriously, an abstract is taking the very essence of something and summarizing it, so I think taking that and applying it to art, you have an image that is simple and really brings out the heart of the image

Wasnt the shot I originally wanted to enter but it sure fit the challenge description/general interpretation better. Looks like I made the right choice. And yes - our team has a bye this week as well.

Mine started at 7.5ish, has dropped as low as 6.85, and is currently just a whisker under 7.0... I, too, am waiting to see what the morrow brings, but we both should end up with decent results, obviously, if the force stays with us :-)
