I, too, just want to let you and your family know that more thoughts are with you than you can even guess. I wish all the comfort and peace in the world to Rose, to you, and to your entire circle of friends and family.
My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. I being a father can't imagine the pain that your family have suffered through. Please keep us informed on how Rose is doing.
Thank-you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.
Unfortunately I'm back at work after 7 weeks with Rose (she lives 250 miles away) and today she began her Chemo (oral) and Radio Therapy. Her blood levels were good so she was allowed Chemo. Tonight she is unwell and it looks as if Chemo is affecting her badly.
She is sleeping now (I can't) and I'm praying she will awake tomorrow and be ready for more treatment.
If this thread upsets anybody or they feel it innapropriate for this site then please either send me (or the site council) a message and there will be no further updates.
Andi, don't worry, the updates are not inappropriate. Thank you for letting us know how it's going with Rose. I so hope everything will turn out for good.
Hey Andi, If you ever need an outsider to chat to im only up the road (I think) and would most certainly stretch to a beer. If theres one thing in life its definately unpredictabilty.
Having had a lot of family members (not siblings) suffer with that horrible C word I have learnt one thing and one thing only from it which is to do and enjoy the time you all do have. I don't want that to sound wrong but I'm not that great with words - Whilst this may sound hard please ensure that you are ok and talk to others although you yourself have to be strong for others around you.
I'm not a religous person either but my thoughts are with you all.
I'm glad you're providing the updates, too. I've thought about her off and on since you originally posted, and will look forward to hearing more about her. You're in my prayers.

I don't have many pics of Rose, but I do like this one I took on her 21st showing off her new gucci. Rose is camera shy (as are many peeps) and though not the best shot its good to capture her with a beaming smile
Dear Andi,
I did not see this post until tonight. I am so very sorry to hear about your Rose and all that she (& your family) are going through. It's so hard & scary finding out that a loved one has cancer, & unfortunately it happens too often these days. I've had several family members who've had cancer. Only God knows the outcome, but never give up hope & never stop praying. Sometimes you get a miracle, but through prayer you will always find peace.
My prayers go out for her from the bottom of my heart. She is a beautiful young woman :).
Love & Prayers,
Lori
As you are aware, many of us here in my city are praying for Rose and for your family as you go through this very traumatic time together. It's so difficult to see a child ill.
My thoughts and prayers are with you daily Andi and with Rose and her mother and the whole family circle.
It's so nice to see her wonderful work through photos. It's very special indeed. She's truly an artist.
Andi~I have been threw alot in my life and i know im young still, But i do belive in a God Who Can and Who will do a merical. I have heard of people in my church that have had Cancer and went to the Dr. office and they can't even find a trace of it. Prayer is a powerful thing. But i have been threw some things myself with family were it was just there time to go an that was the hardest thing to get threw my head.
I truely feel for you and your family... I pray and hope for the best in this situation.
Andi, although we've never met or talked together, I just want to say, all my thoughts are with you and you're family.I too am not religious at all, but I am a dad, and I can't think of anything worse then what you and your family are going through. All the best and keep her smiling.
Thanks for all your thoughts and comments, I don't care what people say, I think you are a nice bunch ;)
Rose had an MRI a couple of weeks ago following the completion of her Radio Therapy and Chemo (she has a cool bandana wardrobe now). I was with her last Friday for the results and (to be honest) am not sure if I should be happy or sad.
The scan was as expected and showed no change (can be seen as good) but Rose was often unwell during (and since) the RT, this has resulted in her blood levels being too low to commence the next stage of chemo and it has been put on hold for 2 weeks. If she starts a 1 week on 3 weeks off regime for chemo in 2 weeks then she should be at her best for Christmas and her Birthday (Jan 26th).
I'd like to thank T (Talj) for doing lots of research into people with Grade four Glioblastoma Multiforme tumours (aka GBM4) most especially concerning possible chemo treatments, apparentlty rather than 5/23, 14/28 or even daily treatments are possible (the longer the treatment the smaller the dose) and since Rose reacts very badly it may be worth requesting smaller doses of chemo over a longer period.
Rose had a low blood count and the planned chemo (1 week on 3 off) was postponed until her levels improved. Three weeks later her blood levels are high enough for her to start chemo again - she starts today (14/10).
Now, I'm not up on Graduations (never been to one before) but apparently a graduate only gets 2 tickets? well, Rose has 3, one for me, her Mum and Steve her fiancee.
Andi, I find it very difficult to adeqautely express my regrets at a time like this. It seems that nothing can ease the pain and simple words will never quite do. Words are however all I have and at times like this, I truly wish I were a poet. There are 6 of us here and each one of us would like to reach out and give you a hug right now. Please accept our sincerest hope for a very positive outcome.
