Ah ok, I undertand now, you are just going to shoot me with a slingshot that is and take my camera as I writhe in pain. I can live with that, I thought you were gonna shoot me with a big ass shotgun or something like that :p
I believe a self portrait should show the essence of who you are, be it only one part of who you are. Examples: a dark side, a mysterious side, a happy, sad, good, or bad, etc. LOL....I don't think it is all about looking straight into a camera and saying "cheese". If one looks at the self portraits in gallery here at DPC, you can see many artistic versions. Imagination is key, for me. I especially enjoyed Jutilda's and Arti_Elvi's interpretations they did in the 30-day challenge.
I have yet to venture into doing one of these self portraits, so I may just give this one a go if I can pull off my shot in time.

Thanks, espy! I totally agree with what you said about what a selfportrait should be like. That's the fun part of it, but also a challenge. I tried this as much as I could in the 30 days selfportrait challenge, although it didn't succeed every day of course.
I'm new to this site and have a question regarding this challenge ... If I participate in the self portrait challenge, am I still allowed to submit a photo for the environmental portrait challenge?
Where am I going to find a model so quickly for this challenge?
LOL...I was thinking the same thing. OH YES, a model in a size 7 wearing a bikini with long lovely brunette locks would suit me just fine (so I could show how I was back when I was 16 that is! :) BUT, shooting 30 years later now..LOL.. I decided to just do my shot with me - and showing "part" of who I am :)
My shots are done. I haven't seen the originals yet, so I have to see if there is at least one I wouldn't mind leaving in my port forever after challenge.
