First given to Mr Toyan:
I like it. Good color. Maybe a bit less DOF in the background but it's a very nice shot. Good job
First received from the wonderful nightshy:
Beautiful long exposure phil! That water is just about perfect. Welcome to the site, hope you have a great time while you're here! :D
Made (I said "curtain" which is wrong):
Nice contrasts between hard and soft, and good composition; lots of unfortunate debris (water drops?) on the lens or curtain, though
Received:
I like how you lowered the contrast. Nice texture and detail. Well done.
Hi. My guess is that the title is hooked into why you used this perspective and left the sky uncropped, but for me, the scene is too subtle to illustrate it. I feel a little frustrated by the lack of focal points and mesh of heights on the ground. Will be interested to read what you'd set out to do. Thanks.

Nice image, but I think needs some post processing to add contrast and remove color cast.
First comment given: I was so taklitive back then ;)
"i love this photo..even went back to look at it again....aww inspiring for me."
First comment recieved:My first response to the image itself is that, it's kind of messy and a little chaotic. Looking at the title though gives the needed info, wrapping paper undone, and rocks in side. The overall picture feels softly focused, especially on the rocks, which makes it tough to identify what they are at first. The one in the corner looks more like a decorated cookie actually. Frankly, it's not an image that has a lot of eye appeal. It's disorganized and a little messy, and there's lots of distracting lint on the bottom edge. A simpler setup might have been better, maybe a box, opened with paper opened to reveal a rock?
Out of all the pictures on the first page of entries, this is the one I viewed first. I guess your first instincts are the best because this picture is just amazing to me. Bravo!

First comment I ever made:
While I was originally going to give this photo a 6 or a 7, based on the fact that it *is* a shot of a common neon sign.. I had to stop for a minute, because I kept coming back to it.. I just have to say that I love the way you've framed it, and how it's lit. It's a common sign.. but you've somehow made it simply stunning to look at.. so.. an 8 from me. :)
First comment I ever received:
I sthink it's just a snapshot and not the best quality one.
So much I've learned since then. I remember when I submitted that first entry too.. I thought it was above and beyond good. Hahahaha.

Although it may be found in the tropics it also lives in other areas. We used to get them in our garden in Canbera which is hardly tropic. As for the photo, yes,it fits the challenge well. But it's a shame that the bird's tongue is obscured by the bit of branch.

This is a beautiful shot.
1st given Hi everyone! This is my first post on DPChallenge and what a wonderful picture to post too. Please forgive me if I over speak but I think this is a wonderful picture. I hope to have the nerve to get involved in a challenge in the near future. I am taking time to read the rules, back to the picture at hand. I love the depth of field form the stones in the lake below the water to the mountaintops as far as the eye can see. It is truly a picture of tranquility. I love the way the dock tilts toward the right as if it’s following the lakes curve. Great Photo.
1st Received I like the reflection that you picked up in the rail. I wish that the overall picture were larger.

THAT is awesome!!! I love it!

Awesome concept ... I felt the only problem seems to be the rain and that adds to what you have done.
I look at that pic now and grimace... lol
