In the spirit of the 2 second challenge furor, let's develop a precise definiton of what exactly yellow is and how it should be defined for the challenge.
Should "yellow" be defined as a specific range of colors within the s-RGB gamut, a range of wavelengths on the electromagnetic spectrum or is there some other acceptable metric that would better define "yellow"? Should there also be a requirement for that defined "yellow" to comprise a certain percentage of the image?
Let's set up some boundaries now so that the rules can be re-written in time to now have DQ's for not meeting the challenge.
This isn't quite the same thing as the 2 second challenge.
The voters can obviously see if it DNMC (unlike the 2 second challenge) and vote accordingly.
Of course it is the same as the 2 second challenge.
What's "yellow" to you, may be more green or orange to me and will be a DNMC according to me. Throw in variation due to monitor calibration (or lack thereof) and it's really wide open.
I just want to get it nailed down precisely so that everyone knows what "yellow" is according to DPC.
I could shoot a photo in Yellowstone for this...
Yet another reason for clarifying what is and is not acceptable as "Yellow". Are words/places/things that have "Yellow" in their name acceptable, even if the thing itself does not meet the definition of "yellow" as defined at DPC?
it's a broad challenge. It doesn't say color, words or anything. It just says yellow, so it's all encompassing to me.
Hey... Would any SC like to take a look at Yellow for me? I'm quite unsure if my burning is concidered to be changing a major element. I would be gratefull for some input.
Hmm....after looking at my shot for a few days now I decided to reprocess. Still not sure how this will be received, but I was able to achieve exactly what I wanted with tips/advice found scattered throughout the forums and that makes it worth it.
Well, I have pulled my 15th entry and put in yet another. THIS IS IT. I finally came up with something I am happy with. Not 100% but about 90, so that's going to have to do it.
All I can say is "It ain't flowers." (sneaking back into my cave to chuckle quietly to myself)
