You and me both. Right now it IS my worst score ever, and even though I'm biased, it doesn't suck THAT bad. It really is water. Not just something that looks like water, or might be water, or maybe once was water but isn't anymore....

well i must have missed the team picking but im sitting pretty good, my score hasnt changed except to go up since last night, which is odd, it never goes up the first night.

I'm thinking the hiding of the scores is a good thing. And I wish people hated me as much as they hate CalliopeKel. You're welcome to visit my portfolio and see several shots I *should* have entered. Then vote as if it were one of those shots, and that should be well within the spirit of the challenge, as I simply chose the wrong one.
I do understand now that the one I entered does, indeed, suck.
My worst start ever and one of my favorite entires. While it could not have been made without water, it may not be obvious enough. (Or maybe it's just a lousy shot to everyone but me!) Will have to post it after the challenge and see if it was voted down for DNMC, since no one is leaving comments!
I'm just bummed, because I thought my shot was fairly novel. It was challenging and required many takes. Especially as the subject was not always co-operating. And in truth, I haven't been all that impressed with many of the shots I did see. I saw a few stellar ones but a lot of the same ol' same ol.
How many "water droplet" shots are there?
So I think I once again have a unique an creative shot but it's going down in flames. My guess is that a) there is a bit of backlash against dodge & burn. Which I seldom do any real editing to my photos. This time I did. So my timing is probably wrong. b) some might feel it's too centered but look, there are times when a photo IS supposed to be somewhat centered, and this is one of them.
But my big frustration is that I've got a photo up that most people who've seen it outside of DPC have gone "WoW" and it's dropped dramatically since last night down to 5.5 (not atrocious but I think it's worth a 6.0+) and not a single comment so I have no clue what is turning off voters.
*sighs*

sounds to me like you've got a picture that you've put a lot of work into and you like it a lot.

Well my score keeps dipping. I can say with certainty that I cannot betray my own style just for the sake of a ribbon. I will never do studio shots of objects and call that art. It just isn't to me. So...I guess I'll hover in the top 40 or so for eternity always just short of the Glory. LOL
This feels like deja vu....my 2 sec score did the slight up and down 7.0-7.4-7.0 stuff and ended up being just shy of the ribbons. Guess this one is gonna miss too. :-( I'm feeling quite jinxed right about now.

Be interesting if this one finishes higher than the other one. I liked that one better.
