This would not take much work at all to be a true, color low-key image; just a little curves adjustment.

I followed your suggestion... would this be considered low key or does it need to be adjusted more. I'd like to enter this challenge...not sure if i've ever intentionally taken a low-key pic but i'm ready to try.
Makes sense. I think i'll work on low key the next few days b/c this looks like a fun challenge.
The good news is i'm headed to *(&(^&(^ for 4 days so i'll have lots of time to take pictures. The bad news is i wont get home until monday night and i'll have to scramble to get something in by tues:(

They're referring back to the earlier "Black on Black" challenge under the old "classic editing" rules, eschelar. THAT one had a rules rider attached to it; this one doesn't.
You seem to be pretty durn good at this sort of thing. Would you mind throwing out a bit of advice for those of us less experienced? I'd be particularly interested in the exposures of the 3rd and 4th pics on the top line. Intentionally underexposed? PS'd to get the achieved look? Thanks!
