To that person to whom I made a rather lenghthy comment: We may be kindred spirits, to shoot the same novel?? OMG we're soul-mates! I love you, do you love me check yes or no. :)
I just finished voting on Literary and must say there are some dang good shots in there! I was really impressed. Gave out more tens, nines, and 8's than I have in a while.
Well, for my first member and advanced editing challenge, this is not too bad! Especially since I had fun pulling together the shot, learned a lot more about lighting and my tripod and ate well too!
Holy cow! Wonderful images!! Mine may be browning. I did a very poor rendition of what I wanted to do due to illness that week and time contstraints. Almost pulled it, but what the heck. But wow!!!
This is what I gave out, and I think it is my largest scoring to date!
11 - 10's
22 - 9's
27 - 8's
30 - 7's
Obviously the rest are below that, but all of them were SO creative and a lot of thought went into some in particular. Good job guys!!!!
At least I got a couple votes that weren't 5. I think that early on I got a 7 or something. After that, it looks like all 5's for me. I wonder if I get a bonus for having the smallest number of non-5 votes...
OOF!
And I shot literally hundreds of takes on this one, with probablly 6-8 hours of PS learning...
*sigh*
Things are a little more difficult in the Advanced challenges though I am guessing. A certain level of polish is expected that is a little higher than what I know how to produce.

Gotta learn how to use USM properly.
Edit: 37 votes later and back to 5.000
Mmmmmmmmmmediocrity.
I too used to take 100's of shots for one entry and spend like 3 days on and off in Post Process when I had time. LOL...I don't do that anymore, and the reason is you eventually just get the hang of it. It is worth the time and effort though, for those days of practice pay off in the long run. I have since learned a lot about my camera, a lot about how I take a shot, and a lot about my own sofware for Post Processing I didn't even know existed. It is still worth every moment, no matter your placement. Eventually you will see your scores rise as well as your skills.
I'm going to faint. I skipped the world of 6 and went straight to 7...
LOL...I don't know your entry, but I may have very well helped you with that! :) A LOT of people should have seen a big jump in their scores this morning when I got done voting. I was very happy to see such great shots!
