Seriously, I think this will be a tough challenge. It's a Free Study of sorts I agree so it will be ineteresting to see other people's images. I am hoping for a top 85% finish. If I finish above you that'll make my day :P
I don't have a submission. Was going to go shooting this weekend but the sun has been hiding since Thursday. It isn't suppose to come from behind any clouds until Sunday. :( How depressing.
I decided to enter duotones, though after my high in January, down to the depths of despair in February, I have been tempted to just put my camera away. I predict that this one will be at least a 5.5, but that could mean that it is 500th out of the field the way the votes have been going.
Just got a new lens today, it is a close-up lens for my Sony. Took a few shots, but the only thing it seems to allow me to do is just take shots closer, but the focus and detail is about the same as if I just used macro. I was able to get to within 9 inches of my subject and still get clarity. Not sure how it will help, but when the bees start buzzing, maybe it will serve to take some nice shots.
After spending an hour looking at the last duotones and my entry, and comparing it to my previous scores, I will be lucky to break a 5. I think I'll sit this one out after all.
I am very happy with my "duotone" entry, so hope it will score whatever I deserve..... I will be happy with a high 5's.
I would be over the moon and back again, if I reach the 6's. I don't think that possible yet, as this is only my fourth "challenge" entry, but I am allowed to DREAM, arn't I.....

pffftttt! ya right :) this will be a really stiff competition. i might have to retract my prediction and just hope for a 6 at this point. yikes!
Shoulda entered Fashion....it's what all the cool people are doing. Actually...nwo that I think about it, you should definately stay out of fashion....yes, that way I can finally get my ribbon.
Now let's all remember folks, no image is worth anything lower than a 4 except when they're just too small or too out of focus then fire those 2 canons away ;)
Frankly, I wish that were true, but unfortunately when people are scoring they compare, and if they give an 8 to a nice photo, based on that score they will look at others, go from that 8, and score not so good photos to 1 or 2 for every little thing that they can come up with that is wrong. Anyway, it won't matter with me. I always get below 5's, except for a very few. Not that I can see much wrong with them, bur apparently in comparison mine are considered sub standard.
