Photoshop CS2 has a "Red Eye Tool" in the tool pallet that works great! Unfortunately, CS does not have this tool. I'm not sure what the easiest way would be in CS. If you are using a Mac, I believe iphoto has a red eye tool for removing red eye.
Usually I use a paintbrush to paint the pupils dark grey. If the red eye spills over into the iris, use a paint brush in color mode to paint the iris. Might even want to add a little catch light with a small white soft brush ;-)
I cirle the red pupil and desaturate, sometimes burning the result. Or, if the pupils are supposed to be a light color (blue, green), I select the pupil, choose Hue/Sat, select the red channel & desat until the result is what I want.
i heard about a tool in ps (don't know thw version and havent found it in my cs 2 until now), what you can use to create a competely new pupil. ok it's more cheating than processing, but i imagine, it could be fun to do that.do anybody else heard about something like that?
I found a tutorial online that involves copying the green channel over the red channel in a duplicate layer and then using it as a layer mask to paint the colour back in. See //www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/red-eye.shtml.
