This isn't Angela's first challenge. I don't know why she said that. She has been in more than I have. Maybe she was making a joke?
Anyway....I started at a very disappointing 4.5 for the first 2 votes. Six votes later and I am up to this:

I hope it continues to climb. From what I am seeing, which has amazed me tonight, I can't really see how it could not keep climbing. I mean, I have the winners of this picked I think, and mine isn't among them, but I have also seen some HORRIBLE shots. I see a LOT of last minute throw-ins, and at least 2 definate dq's coming. I also see a lot of great titles with creativity, but with boring shots for the creative thought and title, which I find unfortunate. I actually think my average voting score compared with the voting score I receive is going to suffer after voting this challenge tonight. I can only hope voting on the Industrial and the Free Study, which had some phenomenal shots, will at least keep my average even.
To me, Rikki, I think a lot of people vote emotionally on the roll over night. They are either dissatisfied with their own entry and tend to vote low on others they may find superior, or if its a duplicate I think it gets automatically voted lower so as not to outshine theirs. But I think between being tired, and emotional from the overwhelming plethera of entries, scores tend to start out low.
It has been a pattern for me anyway to start VERY low and go up anywhere from a .5 point to 2 full points before challenge end. Hang in there. Tomorrow more will be alert and see things in a better light! :)

Ahhh, thanks for the clarification. I didn't pay attention to the "members challenge" thing. I never came across a difference before in my own entering.

Rose, if you see photos you think are illegal, you should recommend them for DQ so we can check them out.
No, no. I did that once before and got called on the rug for it because a lot was done in camera that I didn't understand. Although, one has nothing to do with editing rules, but other rules. I am sure they will catch it without my finger point.
I will just keep faith that the powers that be are watching, and from what I can see in other challenges, they certainly have been, even if it is after the fact sometimes.

if the photo is legal, then there's no harm done, if it's illegal, then we need to know. We cannot check into photos if everyone is scared to request that we look into it. So far there are no requests, which leads me to believe that everyone thinks everything is legal. No one knows if or who makes a DQ request except for SC. If you received anything from SC referring to a DQ request, it was an informational/educational message...not anyone calling you out. Sometimes I like to send messages linking to the tutorials so people can learn from it if they didn't know they could legally achieve a certain effect. Besides, just because it CAN be legal, doesn't mean it is. I'd hate for an illegal photo to slip by cause no one wanted to request validation on it.
