I also designed some logo's at my internship last year, but didn't get payed for it :(
to design a logo is not easy, that is if it is supposed to sell your buisness, I am currently designing a logo for my website, I've spent about 100 hours and I still have 2-300 hours left to finish the project, it's not an easy logo, I'm creating an ambigram from the word "dansignet".
I wouldn't do that for someone else for less than $5-10.000 ;)
I REALLY like annah's version. I would also like to have Da Vinci's "creation" in there somewhere too. If you dont know what im talking about heres a link. I want to thank everyone soo much for helping me out here. Often times people hear "Dr." and think I have tons of money. I just got out of school over $160,000 in debt. I dont have any spare money. If I could, I would pay everyone who is helping me out a few hundred bucks each. Anyway, thank you all.

I really do not want to be negative but my wife owns a printing company and she designs logo's for alot of people. $10.00 is a insult to anyone who does this. You may get someone to do the work for you but if you raise it to $100.00 then you should get a few quality responses.
On a average my wife will get anywhere from $100.00 to $300.00 depending on the time.
So would you like pictures of people on there with back injuries. some standing straight and tall, young are a little straighter and old a little bent over..??
Or just all healthy no problems with smiling faces...?

I can't design or draw for beans....I looked at the da vinci picture you referenced....it might look kind of cool to have one of the fingers touching the spine in annah's logo? Do some fanangling (sp?) Just an idea! :)
colya - I really like the da vinci painting also...I think it has special meaning to me....to see the fingers almost touching.
tolovemoon - I'm going to have a family-based wellness pracitice. I do not do Personal Injury or Workers Comp. I am going to primarily have a cash, subluxation based practice. I'll email you if you want to know more what that is.
bcoble - Glad I've got some great people on here that likes this as a hobby and willing to give me some ideas. I wish I could afford more, but I just can't. I adjusted over a dozen immigrant workers today on my dads farm...all I got was a handshake...was it an insult for me not to get paid for that? Not at all. I just helped them tremendously. I bet your wife does some great work. I wish I could do sometihng like that...I cant even draw a straight line. I really like your clouds picture...the grain in it makes it look like film. In "the way it was' what is that thing? I see the cutter in the background, but i really cant tell what the main subject is. My dad restores antique equipment as a hobby and I'm just wondering.

Some advice: If you intend to use it for your company logo kiropractic I highly recommend you check that out the copyright laws concerning this image even though it should be public domain.
Also, the designs which have been submitted although very pretty are not practical from a printing standpoint a simple rule of thumb when designing a logo if it doesn't look good in black & white DON'T use it. The designs listed although very nice are utilizing close registrations gradient fills and 4 color process all of which will cost a fortune to have printed. See Logo Examples here for examples of cost effective logo reproduction (from the logo factory i think)

this. Need some feedback from a printer before you accept this.
I personally do not like it. If you were to put this on the side of your car it may be ok. For letterhead or business card application I do not think it will appear well. My perspective.
What you guys need to remember is that these are typically offset printed. Vector not raster files are required typically an EPS file. This way the files could be enlarged or reduced with no degradation in print quality. The fonts need to be embedded within the file and converted as paths (or vectors).
Spot coloring is typically used as well. Just my two cents.
People, the client here has made it obvious that money is a real issue for him. So take it from somebody who did this stuff for years, for a print shop:
Stay away from "tones", "blends", 3-dimensional effects, all that cool stuff.
Your client needs a simple, memorable logo that can be used as small as on a letterhead and as big as on a sign for his place of business. It should have no half-tones, and no color other than (possibly) spot color. And if you DO use spot color, be sure the design works equally well in B/W or a single color.
Your client's initial idea of a circle containing a triangle containing a human figure is not a very good one: something like half the real estate in that initial attempt of his is given over to meaningless emptiness. That might work ont he sign scale, but it's no good on a smaller scale, where details get lost.

These are in all living things, similar to humans being made up of body, mind, and spirit. At the center is Chiropractic. Man I wish I was more creative whn it came to stuff like this.

It may not print well like some others have said in this thread, but I do like this one better than mine or annas because it is not very busy. I think that a logo should stand out but be kind of plain, ya know? I think that you did a great job.

Visualize this sized down to fit on Letterhead or a business card.
I like the logo but do not feel it will work in those applications.

A couple things for you to consider: while I understand the "triune of life" symbolism, what are the chances, realistically, that any significant portion of people viewing your logo will understand it without explanation? Is it worth introducing an abstract concept like this into what is supposed to be an attention-getting device if the end result is to water down the strength of the graphics?
Secondly, if we take as a given that you want to incorporate the triangle, consider eliminating the CIRCLE, which is the real space-waster. I look the logo above, donfanatic's, for reference, and I see it LARGER than business card-size on my screen, and STILL the actual "meat" of the logo, the spines and the human figure, are not really readable. At the same time over half the AREA contained by the logo is blank grey, contributing nothing to the whole.
There would be other possible ways of incorporating the triangle without using it as a "frame" for the rest, also. For example, the chiropractic Cauduceus could be the largest element and it could be superimposed on a smaller triangle. The basic shape of the cauduceus is triangular (connect the extremeities to see the implied triangle) with its point down, so superimposing this on a point-up triangle (but overlapping it, not contained by it) would produce a 6-pointed star. Not that you necessarily want that, of course, but just to illustrate my point.
If I were at home I'd try to sketch something in corel but I don't have it here.

The Circle and Triangle isn't necessarily a requirement. Anything that you pro's and people that have more knowledge than me think will work...just try it.

Okay, here's one of my own. It is VERY rough, and the quality REALLY sucks (I did it on MS paint), but they're just concepts anyway.
I chose to incorporate the Ying Yang symbol because it represents balance (the perfect balance between family caring, and professional knowledge).
