I think there are alot of great shots here and not all macro either, just because you magnify something doesn't mean it's a good photograph. I see a lot of awesome close ups in here. Mine on the other hand isn't my pick it's the hubby's. It's good but now looking through the others I wish I stuck with the one my gut told me to go with. Ok I'm done whining!! Live and Learn!

Whew. Well. This one is a toughie. I decided to be one of the people who did not do bugs, flowers, shells, eyeballs, etc. Mine is not macro at all, rather, it's a closeup portrait still-life. The score thus far?
My one commenter said they gave me a 7 for composition but didn't really think of it as a macro shot. I KNEW this was gonna happen. Knew it, knew it, knew it! Everyone said, no, the contest specifically says closeups are OK. I knew the voters were only going to give good scores to...
Knowing that there are others out there who have more superior macro lenses than the two that I have (my invisible, and non-existing ones :-p), I decided to sit this one out.
And boy am I ever happy I did! Great photos here, I'll try to leave as many comments as I can, and bump up the ones who dare think outside the flower and bug infested box.
