You should place a memorial in his profile; that way, as people discover his very nice pictures, they will learn a bit about him. And also know that he's not reachable by email anymore.
Sammie i am so so sorry. ((((hugs)))), it is wonderful that he was a part of this site and that he thought so highly of it. I am sure he will be sadly missed. If you ever need to talk i am here
I imagine he was mighty been proud that you won a ribbon.

Sammie I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I have lost both my parents and I can honestly say I have been there. Cherish your memories and hold on to your mom, she will need you to be there for her. I lost my dad first and my mom felt so alone, it was my mission to always let her know she was never alone. God bless you and your family.
Me and mine our thinking of you and yours during this difficult time. My wife and I have both lost our fathers over the last couple of years so we understand how hard this time can be. Just remember that your dad has moved on to a place where it won't be hard to breath any more. A better place and someday you will see him again!

sammie i am so sorry for your loss...i just saw this thread for the first time now....as hard as it is to have lost him ...one thing to look positivly to are his photos...you will be able to hold on to those as a piece of him and forever be able to see how the world looked to him through his own eyes...keep talking about the good times and share stories with each other....

I'm so sorry to hear about that Sammy. I had just discovered your mom and dad's profiles and quickly made them favorites because of the great work and because I too am from Butte. Give my condolences to your mom please and to you as well.
I'm new and didn't know your father yet, but the loss of a loved one is something many of us can relate too (unfortunately). I can only offer my sympathies to you and your family, I wish you all well.
I personally emailed Sammie, but also wanted to share condolences here as well, since SamT was also a member of our DPC 'family'. My deepest sympathy on this loss.

Thanks so much all of you, for your kind words. Dad's funeral was on Saturday, the weather turned nice for it - it had been raining for 3 days so we were lucky to have a sunny day. We are on the way home to Colorado now and I stopped to check on DPC from the computer at a store in Cheyenne where our son wanted to stop.
All of my family really got a lot of comfort from your messages. DPC is like extended family.
