Finally got the sixometer working, hopefully it stays there. Outstanding group of photos, I have given out many high scores on this one. Will be tough to ribbon it, looks like a high scorer.

Wow kirbic, aldready at 103 votes? I only have 88... Anyway, not trying to jinx me or anything but looks like my 6 shot in a row with 6.5+ but I am pretty sure I won´t ribbon with this, especially after seeing your score...
Hey, if it's any consolation, you just missed the "scores 7+ and doesn't ribbon" club, of which I am a reluctant member :-P

Pretty weird...already have almost almost half the votes and more then have the views of my triangle entry. I have given more 10's (3 this time and I generally only give one per challenge) 9's 8's and 7's. Only about 20 4 or less.
My sense is that one can't compare one challenge to the next.
For a change I think I have a significant disagreement with the voters ... I really think mine should be getting about a half-point to a point higher than it is getting so far ...

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing 'bout mine... not greedy tho ;-)
i'm not complaining, but i actually think mine is scoring higher than it's worth by about 1/2 point. it's not that good.

I'm sure both of your shots are better than most. But I agree that in a silhouette challenge, there are fewer evaluative options, and it's easy for an average/poor image (like mine) to hide its flaws and become passable. It's a matter of what mood the image is projecting, rather than the technical qualities of the image, that matters more in a silhouette challenge, imho.
Still climbing!! I am thrilled right now. I know it's still early but this is, so far, my highest rated photo. Which is sad seeing as it's not even a 5!

Wacky - I just noticed that Larus and I have entered the same number of challenges, and our average votes received are only 0.0014 apart. Of course that sneaky Icelander is ahead of me... but still :).
My picture went from 5.5 to 6.0 in 24 h. I hope it will stay there and place maybe in the first 40s.
Ha! So did mine, actually from 5.2 to 6.0 in 24 hours. i'm hopeful that this will be my very first 6+ photo and just keep improving. i'll be looking to see who goes on top, you or me. just kidding. good luck.

Hehe, that IS wacky but trust me, I´d rather have that blue ribbon than have a slight lead in the average score... Anyway, not going to get blue this time either so I have to put all my apples in one basked and wager on the apple challenge *holding my thumbs* :o)
Edit: I also noticed that before you got the blue ribbon you had two pictures in the 6th place and one in the fifth, the same places I have gotten lately...
Excellent Challenge. Great images. I have finished my voting, and commenting. For the most part, very high scores from me on this one. I really enjoyed the ones with just a little detail around the frindges of the silhouette. Just enough to allow the imagination to take over and have some fun. Congratulations to everyone on a wonderfully photographed challenge.
My worst so far. And I expect even worst than this.
But I certainly enjoy the comments (mostly positive ones) It's one of the bad entries that I don't regret I submited :)
