A lot of people vote first and comment later while adjusting votes. The first round is just to try and group images into smaller packages. This seems to work quite well especially with the challenges with a larger number of entries (for me anyway). I'm in no way suggesting that this method is any better than other methods used. Just trying to explain the lack of comments in the early stages of voting.
Hmm...poorly - average at this point is something like 4.26. I entered this at the last minute, literally, since I just joined on Saturday. I have been looking over the entreis though and will start voting this afternoon. Question 1: Do shadows count as silhouettes? Question 2: Do photos, although they meet the criteria, that have been edited to make a photo a silhouette count? I ask this based on the criteria for the challenge - backlit shot to create a silhouette.

go with your gut...just try not to be too anal about it ;-)
if you think the image represents a silhouette and it is a good image, score it accordingly. the main thing is to be consistent, and, if you really feel like scoring one low, give it a comment as to why (and DO NOT be afraid to comment). have fun. enjoy yourself. don't take any of this too seriously and you'll have a ball. welcome aboard!
Wow you guys did a great job!! I ended up with 5 10's wich whooped my previous record of 3 in one challenge. Getting just 5 was no easy task I gave a few shots 7's that would have taken a ribbon in a lesser challenge. Will be returning to comment on some later.
I find that by this time my score does not change much. I'm around 5.50 and it will fluctuate a little by the time voting is over. But, it is likely I will end up about where I am now.

this has been true for me as well..in every challenge but Fives where i kept going steadily up .. other than that it is like an election..you can call it now...
i'm scared to post everytime i post the score it always starts dropping but i will say...i'm at a levels i don't usaly get to.......
watch it will drop anyways.
havn't hit 100* votes yet so it is still moving around alot tho.

*i have a theory that untill u hit 100 votes u don't really have a base for how your shot is doing, but after u can tell how most ppl. are seeing it.

Seems that anything with a depth of emotion, or requires thought bombs.

I'm pretty happy with this, though I really thought I had a 7+ photo. I've gotten some good feedback though, and already 1 favorite, which is a good feeling after my last three disasters.
Wow kirbic, aldready at 103 votes? I only have 88... Anyway, not trying to jinx me or anything but looks like my 6 shot in a row with 6.5+ but I am pretty sure I won´t ribbon with this, especially after seeing your score...
geez ... talk about gettin' screwed. Five straight submissions over 6.5 and no ribbon on any of them ... that's amazing.
It's great that you're scoring so well ... there's definitely many ribbons in your future.

wow i think this is the most high scores i've given out so far since i've entered...glad all the challenges dont look like this or i wouldnt stand a chance.
Pretty weird...already have almost almost half the votes and more then have the views of my triangle entry. I have given more 10's (3 this time and I generally only give one per challenge) 9's 8's and 7's. Only about 20 4 or less.
