I learned a lot reading these forums. I had a lot of questions that I was going to ask. They had already been asked and answered.
Thanks to all.
The links were helpful too.
ok....i tried all afternoon and i am still without a silhouette shot...i did however come across this little guy no bigger that a quarter.....was thinking about throwing him way up in the air in front of the sun and shooting him...with my camera that is...the title being " flying turtle in silhouette...."

Totalled turtle - I would have loved to have seen that one. It is not everyday that you get to see a flying turtle. If you get to go back and do this, I think that throwing the flying turtle high enough so that you could capture the moment as it just covered the sun could be quite effective.
PS I like the way that you made sure that no-one thought that you were actually shooting the turtle with a gun - need to be careful of those "animal rights" movement people.

Just finished my 3rd pass on the Night challenge, lots of good shots, I'm thinking this challenge will be the same, should be a high scoring challenge. Haven't found my shot yet.......good luck to all.....ace
Ok, somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong. Trying to post link to image on my profile and getting only address. I know, WAEFRead the directions! (gotta link? still new at this #$%@??!)
Beaflies... when posting a photo, click on the last box located just below your name, namely the "insert thumbnail link to site image" and in there place only the number of your image, and your photo will appear in the "message" box.

Hope this helps.
Edit: Serioutly, I would not consider this a silhouette as it is the primary object in the photo and well lit (compared to everything else in the photo). The negative space in a silhouette image would be lighter than the silhouette itself, or so I believe.
I may change my mind later, but that's how I feel right now about this particular image.
