Well, living in north eastern Illinois left me, among others around the world, at a disadvantage to begin with. I went with something simple and now I'm currently getting my worst score ever. Hopefully, things will improve as the week progresses.
I agree with an earlier post that these pictures seem to be missing something. Alot the pictures could have been greatly improved it the sky was darkened.
Some seemed to just not get the Ansel Adams style at all but just rather were just a BW photo of landscape. No real contrast or even intersting subject matter. I'm from Ohio. There is no landscape, we removed it all. But I was still able to find an interesting subject.

You know the thing about a troll, he's got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'. Until he votes and those black eyes roll over white. And then, aah then you hear that terrible high pitch screamin' and your face turns red and in spite of all the poundin' and the hollerin' they all come in and rip you to pieces.
Y'know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men. I don't know how many trolls, maybe a thousand! I don't know how many men, they averaged six an hour. You know that was the time I was most frightened? Waitin' for my turn. I'll never enter an Ansel Adams challenge again! So, 291 members went in the challenge, three will come out, the trolls will take the rest, March the 13th, 2005. Anyway, I delivered the Brown Ribbon.

What do you think the chance of my splitting the bell curve are? Must be that I'm falling victim to the Ansel: yes, Ansel: no votes--hovering around a 5.0000 (Nothing new there.)
I have no access the breathtaking landscapes so I'm not doing too well as I assumed. I did take an outdoor landscape though.
At least you have a good excuse. I live where there are plenty of breathtaking scenes and my score is about 4.8 after 72 votes. I'm just a lousy photographer!
